Re: can you change the days?

No one can, when they start! Tomorrow is my final run of the program, and I still have a hard time believing I can run for 30 minutes. I get to the halfway point and am not breathless, and remind myself of the first few weeks when even running for three minutes was almost too much. It is amazi...

Re: can you change the days?

You can run on any day you choose, but personally, I come back from two days rest feeling like a beast: that first run of the week is the one where I am most likely to set a new distance record, record a new personal best mile, or just have an overall faster average pace.

Re: I did it! 30 minutes!

The treadmill was a terrible idea, one I have regretted mightily today. Oh my goodness, my legs. I didn't realize that running on a treadmill would change my gait enough to make me sore from the waist down! I look a sight trying to take the stairs!

Re: Week 8 and I'm a bit stuck

How much water do you drink? For me, I tend to feel sluggish like that and have a lot of trouble with my runs if I haven't been drinking enough water. I really have to be vigilant about how much water I'm drinking, and sometimes it feels like a chore to get in at least 32 oz a day, but it really doe...

Re: Week one...argh!!

I used to get a lot of side stitches, too, and the only thing that helped was finally finding a good breathing pattern. Once you've been running for a few weeks, maybe a month, you find what works for you in terms of breathing and pace, and it becomes a lot easier. Now I don't get stitches unless I'...

I did it! 30 minutes!

Woke up to a horrible, overcast day, and as I got my toddler son ready to go out in his jogging stroller, it started to rain. Since I had Mini Stark with me, I didn't dare go out! If it had been me by myself, I would have gone in a heartbeat. I was so determined to do my 30 minute run today, s...

Re: Jan 1 / Week 1 / Run 1

The thought of running a real race of some sort is brilliant and is definitely something to aim for. Rob Of course...

You're improving, and that's great! Before you know it, you'll be ready for week 2. Keep up the good work!

Re: Plateaus and getting through them.

It really is different for everyone. I really struggled with week seven, and took a week off from running to sort of recoup and get to a better place (there's a lot going on, I don't get enough sleep EVER, generally feeling overwhelmed and the struggle with week seven didn't help AT ALL). I came bac...

The speed that is comfortable for you! Everyone runs at a different pace, after all.
