Re: Day 1 excited and afraid
I have an idea what you mean about terrible shin splints: I've lost two weeks of the program to resting because my shin splints were so bad I could barely walk up and down the stairs in my house. :? But the good news is I've made it to week 8, and I'm sure you can do it, too! My recommendation to yo...

Make sure you have a good pair of shoes for your gait, too: if you must, go to a running shop and have your gait analyzed. Run on ...

Re: Just started week seven
I'm having trouble with the week 6. Hopefully this week I'll do better on the 25 min run. Couldn't finish it one time. Net time did w6r2 again. All kinds of fail. Re: I am ashamed of myself!
Well, today's run was AMAZING. I hardly knew what to do with myself, because I left my son at home with his dad. Running without my "partner" was lonely and strange! But not pushing an extra 40-odd pounds along made all the difference, and I took another minute and fifteen seconds off my b...

Re: I am ashamed of myself!
Well done! Yes, those last five minutes are the longest, most never-ending minutes EVER. Funny how the five minute warm up goes by in a flash, yet those final five of the run just drag.
