Re: Week 5 Run 3

Yes, that one is a bit of an eye opener. It is where you see what you are capable of right now. As Claire says, slow down if you have to, maintain your running motion and you will do it. As Mattsaid, if you try it and it is too much, go back to the earlier week 5 runs. Let us know how you are doing!

Re: New to Running 45+

Honestly, I dabbled with running on my own for a month before trying c25k, so it was one full month of trying. To me that mean just keep doing week one until you accomplish it. Not master, accomplish. Then move to week 2. Same thing. You will be there before you know it

Re: New to Running 45+

If you are feeling some heart palpatations, please consider visiting your doctor for check. I had chest pain about 6 months before I started C25K, and if nothing else, the midical ok calmed my nerves as I worked my way through the program. Good luck and remember, every step, walking or running, is o...

Re: New to Running 45+

Keep at it. The problem with exercise, appetite etc. is that everyone is different. What works for May or may not work for another. You can look up my story but in short: I started C25K when I was depressed and had no appetite. When I finished, I was down 28lbs. Not so depressed by that point. Lost ...

Re: First day (fail)

Agree with Matt. How many capable people did not get up and do something? You got up, you did 5 minutes of running, you win! Soon enough it will be more. Please keep us informed on you progress.

Re: 34 days after the program...

Tomorrow will be 100 days since the program. I generally run 3-4 days per week, have maintained my weight loss, and know ever time I walk out the door I can run a 5K, but still not under 30 min. PR is 31:26. I hear it takes time to ingrain a habit, I think I am there. Now more goals!

Re: Laughing Gravy's accountability thread

Please share. I can usually identify the cause (walking too fast with poor form) rest for a few days. Wear a compression sleeve and take alieve for next run.

Re: 34 days after the program...

Tomorrow mark 60 days since the program. I have averaged nearly 4 runs per week. Since my post on Oct 17, I have run over 10K in a weekend long run, ran 3 miles in 32 min on the Oct 18 3 mile fun run, and ran my 2nd organized 5K race in 32:00 on Nov 9 for a new PR, 3:50 better than my first 5K race ...

Re: 34 days after the program...

Great to here it helped. I am trying to read more about interval training for folks who actually know what they are talking about (verses me just trying something on a whim.) Hopefully I can take more advantage. Good Luck and keep running
