Re: Only One Week Left!!

I thought I'd start by using the local Parkrun 5K event to build up a bit more speed and then move on to increasing the distance. I've been challenged to run a half marathon in Barcelona in February so I might try and do a 10K in the autumn too. I know that others have asked about a 10K app. Any upd...

Name: Jane
Area: Staines, UK
Completed: 31st August 2014
I took 12 weeks to complete the plan and I couldn't have done it without Claire's reassuring voice! I'm so happy to have stuck with it and now aim to work on distance and speed. Thanks to all at Get Running - it's a brilliant app!

Re: Week 5 run 3

Well done! This run sure scared the heck out of me but I managed it and am just about to start the final week. It's great to look back to where you started and see how far you've come. :)

Re: I havent run for 1 week :(

Well done Tinydancer - you should feel very proud! I missed over 2 weeks after week 7 run 1 due to work commitments and other stuff. I decided to go straight back and do week 7, run 2 but taking it 5 minutes at a time and stopping if it felt too much. If I did stop, I'd go back a few weeks and build...

Re: Nervous about W5r3

Hi Alabamatrotter! I've been taking each week as it comes and not looking too far ahead but I must admit this run did have me a bit worried. Anyway, I just went out and took it 5 minutes at a time. Every time Claire's voice told me that I'd completed another 5 minutes, I'd vow to keep going for the ...

Re: Where in the world are you, and where do you run?

I live in Staines in the UK and run along the river path by the Thames. Gorgeous on summer evenings - but I have a feeling that in winter the path will be under water!

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Hi everyone! I'm Jane and last January I celebrated my 50th birthday in Barcelona with family and friends. Whilst I was there, I was discussing ways to keep fit as I'm getting older and my cousin (who's a keen runner) invited me to run with him in the park and along the beachfront. I'd never run bef...
