Re: First run after two week Hol

Oh no Colin - you were going great guns the last time we spoke. Sprained ankles are bad too - take it easy and let it heel properly before getting back to it. It's not going to affect the 10k is it?

First run after two week Hol

OMG that was tough!!!! Running face in to the wind. I decided after a two week break due to holiday that I would redo week three as that's where I left it. Managed it ok but the wind was a nightmare.

Well let's see ......

Anybody from Scotland?

I'm running in Broxburn - a little town in west lothian.

Would be good to "meet" others from this neck of the woods. :)

New shoes

Well after a disastrous run last Thursday due to going over on my ankle and splitting my shoes, I have gone out bought new ones (and more rainy weather gear) and have started week three again. Although I felt ok last week I want to ensure that I am truly ready for the start of the "ramp up" and I ne...

Re: Ran 6k tonight!!

Thanks for that. I have to say that finishing the programme is motivating me at the moment. I know I am only three weeks in but I am feeling great knowing that I am pushing myself every time I am going out and I am not challenging anyone but myself. I will focus on this just now. Are there anymore s...

Re: First Run

Congrats and stick with it - I found week 2 excruciating on the first run. I finished them but gawd "wee red tomato" by the end!!!!!

Happy running and keep posting - I like to see how everyone is getting on.

Re: Ran 6k tonight!!

Well done. I am always in awe of people that run these kind of distances. Can I ask whether you have used another programme to build it up or are you " going it alone" Also how long did you wait until you entered a race. Everyone has been saying to me to enter a fun race (5k) to keep me motivated bu...

Re: New girl on the block

:) I think I have! I actually went out in my lunch hour today to ensure I get my "run" in as I am busy later in tonight. Wind and rain in my face - highly entertaining!

Re: First Run

I go out for walks on the off days and have found this has helped. However I don't do it every day. I have Friday and Saturday off. I am in the process of using g-map to try and plot out a couple of 5K routes around me. My aim being that I walk this on my off days and use the route when I am doing t...
