Re: Just finishing week 2

Tomorrow I start my last week, week 9 - tantalisingly close to the end (or at least the start) now. I am off to Poland on Monday and spending the next 2 weeks in Poland, Germany and the Netherlands. So, I hope to do my final run somewhere interesting like the Baltic Sea. Hope you guys are running we...

Re: On the home straight...

I use the RunKeeper app as well. I find it very motivating as it records and logs all your runs, including the Google map of the route - it then synchs with your records on the web site. It is very motivating to see your mileage build up, weekly and monthly totals etc, best times, distances etc. Its...

Re: On the home straight...

Some days you run with a spring in your step....you litteraly feel like you are flying - other days your body feels like lead and it is a trudge from beginning to end. Today was such a day - early morning grey skies, feeling tired, and even Mark Knopfler's music on the iPhone was rather mournful - b...

On the home straight...

After getting to week 8, running for 28 minutes and not feeling great (sore knee and just generally not feeling very strong) - I back tracked to week 5. The best thing I could have done and I can definitely recomend it if you feel you are not quite ready. I am now finishing week 8 and am feeling so ...

Re: Good running tunes

I have been really enjoying the new R.E.M - but then I am 55! They are as good as they ever were.

Re: Just finishing week 2

Been skiing yet Michelle? It was so warm here in France last week. Hope you had a great time if you have been already and no injuries I hope! A few weeks back I was up to week 8. My knee was playing up so I backtracked to week 5. Now I am starting week 8 again this week and feeling much stronger now...

Re: Does age matter?

Age should be no obstacle at all so long as you stay injury free - but then that can happen at any age. Just take it slowly and be disciplined about stretching afterwards. I am 55 and loving the programme. A few weeks back I was up to week 8. My knee was playing up so I backtracked to week 5. Now I ...

Re: Just finishing week 2

Pity this is not like facebook - and you could click on "like"! Thats an excellent result, for a first race Tim - well done. I ran a leasurely 20 minutes this evening. The blossoms are out and the evenings are warmer and longer and it is a good feeling.
Cheers

Re: Just finishing week 2

Congratulations Tim! Its great running in a fun run or a race with other's isn't it, a completely different experience. I dropped back from week 8 to week 5 - second run yesterday. Actually, its quite motivating to find how much easier those shorter runs have become. Anyway, I am in no hurry - have ...
