Re: Roll of honour 

Just completed the Get Running App, and very grateful to everyone that created this fantastic app and for everyone's support on here. I remember struggling on week 1, in fact every single week I looked at the plan, thinking "I cannot do this" but I did and if I can, then anyone can, so if ...

Re: Week 5 QUESTIONS!

I always tried to pay it back. If I had to stop to walk for a minute, then I just ran for an additional minute at the end and then repeated the run the following night until I had mastered it. You will amaze yourself, when you complete this run though, its a massive moment when you really feel like ...

Week 8 Run 1

I started week 8 tonight and feel like I have turned a massive corner as I notched up my first 5k in 32 minutes.
Really chuffed but will be so sad to say goodbye to the app that changed my life and proved that even this gaming couch potato can become a runner.

Re: Running Diet

I keep seeing peanut butter mentioned in all of the running lists, how could I forget that one, I cannot stand the stuff though so will have to search for a substitute.

Running Diet

As I try and replace bad 30 years of bad habits with some good habits, I guess it was only a matter of time before I take a closer look at my diet. Looking at the various articles online, these seem to be the most popular with runners. Apples Bananas Broccoli Wholegrain seeded bread Wholegrain Rice/...

Re: Upper Back Pain

After learning a few proper stretching exercises for the upper back and between the shoulder blades and even a self giving back massage with a tennis ball http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66JVpyga7D4 I decided to go on my run. Whilst running, my back was fine and had no problem and didn't feel any dis...

Upper Back Pain

I am now on week 6, my legs are feeling great and pace myself so gasping for breath is not a problem. Just when I think all bases are covered and I have everything sussed, I am struck down with troublesome upper back pain just below my right shoulder blade. My other half gave me a quick massage and ...

Running Gear

So far I am running in pair of Saucony Pro Grid Ignition 2 Running Trainers, Ron Hill Tracksters (with handy front pocket for iphone) and X-Cellerate Stamina Mens Full Zip Hooded Running Top. As I begin week 6 where 25 minute runs become the norm and the hot summer sun is on the horizon, maybe I mig...
