Re: I am ashamed of myself!

I decided to repeat week seven. Last week's runs were so horrible, I was on the verge of tears the whole time because I honestly could not keep going. Last week, the first run went fine, and the two others after were an absolute horror, so hopefully this week isn't more of the same: today's run was ...

No, Nike+ GPS doesn't have that little chip you put in you shoe. There's nothing to install but the app itself. :)

Re: New Guy- Help -Shoes and Tracking my route

A good pair of running shoes is absolutely worth the price! What constitutes "good" is different for everyone, but I think $100 is entirely reasonable, especially if you're a hard-to-find size. There are several nice GPS apps I've tried with Get Running. iMapMyRun is free, and I really lik...

Re: Just started week seven

I'm a little jealous of you, managing 4 km, though I'm actually not that far behind you: I think I did 3.7 km my last run. When I get discouraged at my pacing - because if you'd ask me, I'd swear I was the slowest runner in the known world - I have to remind myself that even though I feel slow, I ra...

Just started week seven

I had posted about how I was really struggling with week six, and had a ton of trouble with the 25 minute run at the end of the week. My body was telling me to take a break from running, so I listened, and took a week's vacation from the program (AGAIN, third time now). And it was worth it! I starte...

Re: Day 3 Running in Vibram 5 fingers shoes

Awesome, another Vibrams user! My husband introduced me to barefoot running, and I love it! It's true there's a bit of an adjustment period: your gait changes when there's no support/padding, and your muscles will definitely feel it until you're more used to it. It really made my shin splints flare ...

Re: What are your running habits?

I am still trying to work out a good schedule. I don't have the car most days, so I have to stick to the sidewalks in our housing area, and people are always blocking the sidewalks here, so there's only one stretch of road where I can run. Preferably, I would like to run Monday, Wednesday, and Frida...

Re: I am ashamed of myself!

Any advice is appreciated, Ausgirl! And you will be doing 20 and 25 minute runs before you know it, too. I remember quite well being worried how I would do the three minute runs. But I'm still disappointed. I did the 20 minute run last week and found it easier than I hoped, so I was expecting the 25...

I am ashamed of myself!

I could not run the entire 25 minutes today. My legs just wouldn't keep going. This whole week I've been really struggling, my pace is terrible and it feels like I'm running through syrup. Hopefully next week's runs will be easier.
