Re: WOW....... That was tough!!!
I looked back over my run stats earlier today - just curious to see what had changed. My run speed is on average a 2 minute mile slower than those 1 minute bursts of week 1. But my average continuous speed across the 40 mins (I'm on week 8) is 2 minutes a mile faster and today I actually did 5k - wa...

Re: Quick question
Are you stretching well before you go out - it sounds like they are not quite warmed up?

Re: Weight gain
If weight loss is an aim double check your diet but yes this is normal you will tone up. I have many failed diets behind me and when dieting I noticed several things: I was obsessed with food and whilst pounds came off slowly the inches came off even slower. With the running I'm not dieting as such ...

Wow well done. That's a brilliant time too you must be so chuffed. I'm going to try one on Sunday but I'm thinking 40 mins is more realistic for me xx

Hi Sparky. Please don't underestimate the power of the rest days. The early enthusiasm is great but you don't want to reach a point where the pain doesn't go away and you have to have a couple of weeks. The days off allow your muscles to build up - there are loads of things going on behind the scene...

Oh no! Poor you, That's horrid to achieve so much and not be able to keep going. I really hope you are able to get back to it soon.
Thank you for posting this tho' I am always aware of my rest days and as much as I'd like to think I'm superwoman and invincible I know I'm not.
All the best
Xx

Re: I am really...really...really...
Well done that's brilliant. I theory I'm only 2 weeks behind you - in practise it may be 4 or 5, but that's fine knowing that I will get there because it's such a doable programme is enough. Tomorrow my credit card flips over to next months statement so I'm going to sign up for my first 5 k in Brist...

Well done I always find the first 10 minutes the worst while your body is getting used to it and those speedy mums with their racing pushchairs are a nuisance they beat me every time .

Re: Has anyone lost weight doing this?
I was 4 stone overweight when I started. It's taken me ages I've repeated weeks a lot along the way and I had a couple of weeks out for injury. I've been tracking my weekday food using an app called live strong and I set the calorie target for what I can eat if I sit in the sofa all day doing nothin...

Re: So emotional!!
I'm afraid I've found this whole process unbelievably emotional. Almost tears when I didn't manage w5r1 it's was my husbands fault I'm much better alone. Then actual tears when I fell massively at the 20 minute mark of my first 25 min run. Tears again when I achieved my first 25 min run. I know I'm ...
