Re: Ouch ouch ouch - knee problem!

Oh no, poor you! That must be so annoying. Haha, I remember a time when I would've LOVED to have been diagnosed with an injury that meant I wasn't allowed to exercise, but now it sounds like the worst thing ever. Hope you get back on the road soon. In the meantime, maybe you could go swimming gently...

Did my second run first thing in the morning and felt great all day. Looking forward to W1R3 already.

Re: Motivation for the program

The day that I run 30 minutes without stopping is the day I buy myself a gorgeous Alex Monroe necklace that I've had my eye on. Saving up while I run! I'll also give myself a reward after four weeks, I think - maybe a piece of proper running gear, given that currently I'm running in an old tracksuit...

Re: Motivation tips

Just get out there and do it - you'll feel SO much better afterwards. I too started a similar programme a few years ago and gave up after a couple of weeks. Just started again this week, and even though I'm totally back to square one, I feel great for getting out there and just doing something. I fi...

Re: What's the hardest week/run?

Hmm, I guess it must just really depend on the person. I just did my second run this morning and found it quite a bit easier than the first, but really just because I knew what to expect (eg uh-oh, here comes run number 5, got to push through this one and then it'll be plain sailing). I've felt so g...

Re: Keep going...

Congratulations! That's really heartening to read - I just did my second run of week one this morning, and it's so exciting to see where I could end up. Well done for completing the whole programme, and for enjoying it too!

What's the hardest week/run?

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find it recently and I wanted to canvas opinions. I just did my first session yesterday and had lots of people say to me that the first run is the hardest. Obviously I'm hoping that's true! But people who are a bit further along the track, which r...

Re: Just started!

Congratulations! I just started too - and ran my first session this morning. The fifth running minute was the hardest, I thought, but once I got over that hump it was a lot easier! Having a warm bath to try to save my muscles for tomorrow... and then running again on Tuesday, eek!
