So, week 4 run 1 done and it was all good. I'm thinking it's more mind over matter. The 5 minute runs were much better than I expected.
When I started week 1 I was huffing and puffing throughout the runs and that seems to have settled down and it's all much steadier now.

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Had an unforeseen wee break for the last 6 days so completed w3 r3 tonight. It was great. Didn't struggle with it at all. Now looking forward and dreading w4 later this week.
Already I definitely think there's some muscle toning going on and I've lost 1/2 stone so something is working!

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Thanks for the words of wisdom and encouragement. Week 3 run 2 completed this morning and it was a little easier again than the 1st. Still terrified if the impending runs in the next few weeks but one week at a time...

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Just reporting in after finishing week 3 run 1. I loved it. I was fairly terrified about the 3 minute runs but managed them absolutely fine.
Looking forward to the rest of the week now.

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Week 2 run 3 finished and it felt great. Didn't get to run yesterday as I was poorly but now can enjoy a relaxing weekend before week 3 terrifies me on Monday!
How's everyone else getting on?

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Week 2 run 2 done! Definitely easier not having uphill to deal with but still finding the runs tough. I'll see how run 3 goes bur I might extend week 2 for. A bit before moving on to week 3.
3.77 km covered so I'm a happy bunny.

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Well done!
Good for you Jules. I'm 2 runs behind you. Run 2 week 2 in the morning so I'll keep you posted with that.
Cailin rua - can't believe all your runs are uphill. Yesterday nearly killed me and thought it wrecked my knee but it's feeling fine now and all ready for run 2.

Re: Serious exercise phobia
So, Week 2 Run 1 completed this morning and it was tough.
It's the first time I've run in the morning (normally I run at around 7pm) and I was away from home and the 1st 1/2 of the run was entirely uphill!
But I did finish it and will now love running on flat ground for the rest of the week.

Re: Serious exercise phobia
Just finished week 1 and feel great. Really looking to week 2 starting on Sunday.
Good to having the encouraging voice in my ear right the way through.
I also downloaded runkeeper to track my route, distance, pace and calories burned.
3.7km and 250 calories. No idea if this is good for end of week ...

Serious exercise phobia
After numerous bad gym experiences and putting on a little extra weight I've been looking to do something to help me firstly get fit and secondly lose a few pounds and tone up. I'm 34, incredibly unfit and 126lb which isn't overweight, but heavier than I'm used to. I practice yoga (when I think to ...
