Re: Losing motivation

Sorry to read you are not happy. I've been told that the first few minutes of each run are the hardest which kindof explains why doing lots of short runs seems tough. When they get longer absurdly they are easier and less of them which seems better. What do you do when you are running and are there ...

Re: obese runners

Sorry to read you are not well. I can understand your worry about missing the runs. I am scared to miss them incase I go off track permanently. Was bedridden for a day last week and so missed my scheduled run. It even stopped me eating ( that never happens). But for the first time in my ...

Running the distance

So far on this great program I have reached the end of week 5. Never believed I could run for 20 mins without a break. My slight concern is the distance. I reckon I am averaging 100m per min so will not get to 5k in 30 mins . I am very overweight so I realise that running any faster would be hard bu...

Re: What do you listen to when you are running then?? ;)

Hi. I found that when I listened to music I wanted to sing along and couldn't. Also as I roughly knew how long the song was I could time myself slightly. Now I listen to books which distract me totally (kind of) from running as I needed to listen to hear the story. I am currently listening to The Le...

Re: obese runners

Thank you Dawn.that's good advice. At the moment I am running along the seafront in the dark and feel that to seek out grass would lead me to more secluded places and less sure underfoot. The beach is stoney unfortunately. But as it gets lighter in the evenings I'll try the park maybe. Feels good to...

Re: obese runners

Hi I am very overweight. I have just started week 4 and I am very motivated to continue. However I am concerned about the impact on my knees. They did twinge at the end of this run but feel okay ish now and I am aware that I pronate badly but do have inserts in my trainers. I intend to lose weight b...
