Re: Losing motivation

I second everything above. I'm just now getting into the 5+ minute runs, and they are so much easier. On the short runs, starting back after walking was so hard for me. BUT, my breathing gradually got better over the first 3 weeks, and now I don't struggle as much through the runs. It gets better! O...

Re: Stitch

When I first started I would get the worst stitches, sometimes in both sides. I haven't gotten one at all since about the end of week 2, and I'm now in the middle of week 5. I think that my breathing just naturally got better (deeper and more even) as I did more running which eliminated the stitches...

Re: Post your gear!

Yeah dude the sound is great, and they work perfectly for calls. Call comes in and you just press a button on the side to accept. Call quality is excellent. I figured out the problem with my ears lol. It was the way the headphones were sitting on my sunglasses. It just takes an extra minute to get t...

Re: Outside V Treadmill

I've never ran on a treadmill in my life. I kinda want to give it a try now just to see if I like it, but at the gym on my campus there is literally a wait list to use them in the evenings after work. Fortunately we have a lovely fitness trail right in front of the rec center/gym, and that's where I...

Re: Always doubtful about moving on!!!

I moved from week 1 to week 2 today without repeating any of week 1. Ugh. I am embarrassed at how hard it was, but I made it. I just get out of breath so fast. Like Dawn, I am scared of moving to week 3. Any updates on how it went for you? On a treadmill you are all to aware of when you have ...

Running affecting eating/what are you eating?

I just finished week 1 today. I'm thinking about repeating it because I'm not sure that I'm ready to move on. I'm still crawling around the track at the speed of smell. Anyway, this past week I have been eating a lot less than usual. We were discussing nausea symptoms associated with running in anot...

Re: Feeling a bit sick

I almost always feel nausea when I run. The most I can have before a run is a banana. Running on an empty stomach helps, but even then sometimes I still feel like I'm going to throw up. So you are not alone.

Re: Barefoot running anyone?

Actually, I did notice that my calf muscles had a bit more soreness, but my knees had way less pain than usual. I don't really land on my toes so much as my mid-foot.

Going for my run in a bit. Everyone is back on campus from spring break, so I'm hoping I don't get too many stares on the trail. :D

Hi I'm Jessica. Twenty-six year old former high school athlete trying to get it together after about ten years of being lazy. I love the app! I'm actually looking forward to running which is a miracle!
