Re: Eeekkk week 5 run 3

It definitely is do-able. Don't be afraid to slow down considerably compared to the 8 minute runs, but don't walk and don't stop! Good luck :)

Re: How Far - week by week

My advice would be not to worry about distance yet. Focus on running the times required at a pace that's do-able for you. If you focus on distance too much you'll feel down when you don't go as fast on a longer run or an off day.

Chris, London SE10, completed a few weeks ago. Thought I'd add myself to the list. Finished a few weeks ago, since then I've ran a 5.6k race, done a few ParkRuns and today ran longest time so far, 40 minutes. Hoping to get a 10k or more in soon, and have my eye on a marathon within the next two year...

Re: I have gone from Couch to 5K

Haha, thats funny. I did wonder how many 5.6ks there could be. I'll be there on the Wednesday, not done it before but heard it's a good atmosphere with lots of food/drink afterwards.

10 September sounds like a good target, good luck :)

Re: I have gone from Couch to 5K

The 5.6k isn't the JPM Corpoate Challenge, by any chance? I'm signed up for that, will be my next race. Would like to work towards 10k or more, but keep building it up gradually.

Well done! Think on hindsight this run was the turning point for me, when I really started to believe I was doing it! Saw a review in the App Store criticising the jump from 2x8 to 1x20, but actually think it's perfectly timed, and as you've proved it can be done! Keep going... :D

Re: I have gone from Couch to 5K

Well done! I came on to post a very similar tale - I did Greenwich parkrun this morning as my Week 8 Run 3. First time running the distance, really enjoyed it and surprised myself with my time of 24:29 (so, actually 3 and a half minutes off Week 8 Run 3, but I'm counting it!). 39th out of 86, and I ...
