Re: Anyone run with their dogs???

I would like to start running with my dog, but I live in Southern California, so woods and open fields are hard to come by. She wonderful off lead, but I do road running, so I don't want her getting a scent and going astray! I think she would really love it though. For those of you who do run with y...

Re: Failed Week 5 Run 3

As everyone has said. Don't worry about it. I find it impossible to run after a night on the lash. However I don't recommend you go onto week 6 until you have completed week 5. I found week 5 a huge mile stone. Once you can do week 5 day 3. You can take on the world. Give it another try. It's worth...

Re: Encouragement

After tearing my ACL playing soccer, running has always been hard for me. I was kickboxing and avoiding running at all costs, because I hated it, and because it was hard for me to do without knee pain. But after starting the c25k program, I've been enjoying my runs, and really wanting to run on my o...

Re: Should I repeat week 3

or you are building muscle to replace fat - remember muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle does not weigh more than fat. A pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh exactly the same. One pound. Muscle is denser than fat, so it takes up less space, and you need less muscle to reach one pound than you d...

Re: Rest day

I don't see why not. Just don't push yourself really hard on your off days, because then your body will be sore for your next run.

Re: Do I run today? Help!

If the cold/icky feeling is only your head and throat, I would run it, as long as you aren't coughing and can breathe okay. I got hit with a cold last week, and was coughing a lot, so I took the time off, and I really regret it. I wish I had just sucked it up and run, because I could tell almost imm...

Re: Doomed to be fat :(

ALSO! I've found running on the treadmil is so much easier than running outside so if you can, get on a treadmil :-) x Running on a treadmill is easier, because you are just running to keep up with the belt, you aren't pushing off the ground when you run like you would when you are outside. The tre...

Re: Doomed to be fat :(

The heart pounding in your ears thing is probably dehydration. When I work out and I'm dehydrated, I get an awful headache. Feet killing might be your shoes. Are they old shoes from the back of your closet? If so, you probably need new ones, or some sort of insert, at least. Blood in your mouth, no ...

Re: Finish week 7 or move on to 8?

I guess it depends on how you felt during your last run. If you struggled, I would do run 3.

Re-do!

Today I did week 1 day 1 over again. I was halfway through week 3 before I got a nasty bout of a head cold and gross cough. After being out for a week almost, I thought it a good idea to start over. I also went from running on a treadmill to running outside. Not only was it more difficult, but I als...
