Re: Need Advice for July 22nd 5k - in Two weeks - thanks

I completed the app last Nov and have now run about 6 5ks and got quicker each time so this works for me , your run is in 2 weeks so doesn't leave you much time , your 1st week seems ok except on the Saturday I'd try and run 4 miles no matter how slow you have to run it , week 2 id run 2 miles on Mo...

Re: Should i race

In case anybody was interested , I decided to run the 10k race with my knee strapped up and I managed to complete it without any walking . Glad I used the strapping as my knee was aching alot at the end but at least I could run ok , so for saying I took it quite easy for the 1st half of the race I w...

Re: Pain in my left calf muscle

If you are stretching after each run I would say you aren't doing it enough , especially in the early weeks of the programme I would say you need to be doing a good 15 - 20 mins of good stretches . If not you may need to look at your trainers , get your running gait checked at a proper running shop ...

Re: Week 3, Run 1 Failed!

Hi I understand where your coming from and must say its not unusual to feel like this , when I set off for a long run day say 8 - 12 miles I sometimes feel like stopping way before a mile has even gone but once I get through that before in know it my session is done , as you say it is a mind game so...

Re: W3R2 Inner knee pain - help!

Hi I completed this app last November and I had exactly the same symptoms you describe . I to had just done week 3 run 2 and the pain got so bad I had to walk . In my case this is what I did , I took a week off from the app and iced the affected area when I could for 10 mins at a time , took plenty ...

Re: Week 7 tough on lungs

From what you describe you are probably trying to run to quick , you should try a slower pace and see of that helps . Your ideal pace is when u can hold a conversation whilst running , your lung capacity will increase as you keep up your training . Hope this helps .

Re: Outdoors running v treadmill

Hi digbycat , don't worry to much about it being tough at first , I completed this app back in Nov last year and remember the first runs being the hardest . I did all my runs outside bar the odd one when the weather didn't allow , I did this for the very reason you said its harder outside and I want...

Re: My first attempt - Not as good as I hoped :(

Hi , I completed this app back in November and have kept up the running ever since and am still enjoying the running all because of this app , well done to you for making that start , you've already passed the 1st hurdle by deciding to give it a go . From my experience of the 1st week I can't stress...
