Re: Week 5 run 3 - solid 20 mins (eek!)

Guys, I just finished the Week5 run 2, and I cannot imagine that I will run on Saturday for 20 minutes. I feel that the jump from continuous 8 minutes to 20 minutes is really hard! The thing to keep in mind is that you have already done two 8 minute runs. The twenty minute run is just two o...

Re: W4 to W5 & cranking it up a notch!

Apparently you get a special message from the voiceover woman when you complete the 20 min run that makes you feel very happy :) Oh yes, it left me with a smile on my face that didn't let up all morning! It's just a little thing, but it means so much after you've slogged through that first HUGE run.

Re: Week 5 run 3 - solid 20 mins (eek!)

Honestly, it's all psychological. Like you, after the first five or six minutes, it becomes a struggle: my legs feel like they're going to drop off from fatigue. They never do, though, hahaha! I just keep going and don't think about it. There reaches a point where I no longer even notice my discomfo...

Re: week 5 run 3

Seriously, if I can do it, you all can, too. I'm the world's slowest freaking runner, slogging about with a jogging stroller, pushing along an extra 40 pounds.

Re: W5 R3!!!

Congratulations! It's quite the accomplishment to be able to say you ran for twenty solid minutes! We must be tied for Slowest Runner Ever, because I averaged 15 minute miles (4 mph, basically) for the duration of my big 20 minute run today, too. So... Say what you will, the two of us are runners! C...

Re: week 5 run 3

I DID IT! I felt like I slowed down the second half, but I guess it was all in my head: Nike+ GPS says I kept the same pace throughout. I actually got goosebumps at the end when Coach Claire told me to walk. That was easier than I thought! Never thought I'd say that!

week 5 run 3

I've got the big 20 minute run today. Though I've been looking forward to it, I'm also very scared! Will head out in the next hour and let you all know how it goes.

Wish me luck! :)

Re: Finished week 3 and feeling pretty good

Well done, jenseeya! You've kept with it nicely, so don't worry too much about the new week's runs. They seem horribly difficult in your head, but once you get out and start, it isn't nearly as bad as you've built it up to be. I also felt rather intimidated by the 5 minute run, but it was actually f...

Re: Have you ever craved a run when you've never really done

I know just what you mean. I've always had these dreams where I'm running, simply going and going, no trouble with getting winded, no tired legs, just a wonderful feeling of liberation.

During this last week's runs, I got that same feeling, and it was amazing.

Re: side stitches, help!

Well, I generally run first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, so I guess talking is the issue. I went out with him again today and kept my responses to one word and only really talked during the walks, and had no difficulty at all this time. Thanks for all your help!
