But you finished! Congratulations!

I'm starting week 4 on Monday, so I appreciate the warning.

Re: So how flexible on days can I be?

An armband case might be a smart investment, Ringo! That way you won't accidentally drop your phone while you're running. I used to put my phone on top of my son's canopy on his jogging stroller, until one day after a rain, I tripped and fell and took the stroller down with me. My iPhone landed face...

Re: So how flexible on days can I be?

I completed w2r2 and then took a full week off before I went back and did w2r3. It wasn't as hard as I expected, and I went on to do week 3 as normal. Got w3r3 tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it! edited to add: There's nothing wrong with missing a day of the schedule, especially if you're in pai...

Re: First run

Way to go, Wardy! It's so easy to feel self-conscious while you're out there: my husband made a remark one time about a woman out running, smaller than me, something about her rear end jiggling, and since then, I have been super aware of my own... erm... jiggliness, for lack of a better term. ...

Re: One down!

Welcome, Bloomers! Getting started is the hardest, so congratulations on completing that first run! I hope you find the rest of week one's runs a little easier, now that you know you can do it.

Best of luck to you!

Re: downed my second week! Ugh!

Well, I went out in the cold and wet with mini-Stark all bundled up, and I think I slayed it! My leg twinged a few times, but I kept a good pace and felt like I could have kept running each time Coach Claire told me to walk. Monday will be the real test, when I start week 3. I'm so excited to get go...

Re: Newbie - Help with breathing?

I find that breathing to a count of two is what works for me. Inhale as my feet hit the ground twice, exhale as my feet hit the ground twice. It's different for everyone, though, but the two-count is what feels natural to me.

Re: downed my second week! Ugh!

I actually - and this sounds terribly weird - switched to "barefoot running" to strengthen my ankles, and with wearing Vibram Five Fingers during a run, I have noticed my ankles and knees feel SO much better... so I really, desperately hope it isn't the shoes, because they are just so amaz...

downed my second week! Ugh!

I've had shin splints on and off since I began running last year, which was more an annoyance than anything else, but since starting the C25K program, YIKES! Any pressure on my shin is horribly painful. I almost couldn't complete my 2w2d run today, it hurt terribly to change my stride between runnin...

Re: I'm new and sooo unfit!

The hardest part is getting out there and getting started, so congrats to you! :) Just keep at it, and try your best. If at the end of week one you feel like you need to repeat it, DO IT. Pushing yourself too hard is never a good idea. But you would be surprised to see how fast your body adapts and ...
