Re: I've signed up for a 5k run!
Excellent time! Congratulations. I second what you've said - doing an official run was such a fun experience and I felt fantastic when I crossed the finish line.

Re: I've signed up for a 5k run!
P.S. I wrote a blogpost about my Couch to 5k experience here - some of you might find it of interest.

Re: I've signed up for a 5k run!
How did you get on, bex? I'm pleased to say that I completed this last week! It took me about 39 minutes but I'm very pleased to say I ran the whole thing without stopping and feel really chuffed with my achievement. If you told me back in November when I downloaded the Get Running app and struggled...

Re: Week 9
Brilliantly put I just did week 9 run 2 today - I have just 1 run left before I finish the programme! It's taken me longer than 9 weeks, but I got there, and I'm still amazed. If I can do it, anyone can!

Re: Tough Run After 20 Minute Run?
Yep, I found the run after the 20 minute one really tough - which is frustrating because you're on a high from getting over that 20 minute hurdle! I've heard others say the same thing too. Just keep going.

Re: I've signed up for a 5k run!
Great stuff :D I've just started Week 8. I still can't get over my amazement that I ran 28 minutes. It really doesn't seem that long ago that I felt like I was going to die after 8 1-minute runs. I'm still slow and don't expect to do the 5k next month in less than 40 minutes, but I'm taking part, an...

Re: Weight loss
My eating habits haven't changed, so I haven't lost any weight - BUT my clothes are more comfortable and I look slimmer (so I'm told). It's definitely trimming the flab. Good luck!

Re: Do runs get easier??
I'm impressed with the Aussies running in those temperatures! It's bitterly cold here in England and as much as I complain about it, I'd prefer it to running in 36C any day! I'd definitely fork out for a gym just to enjoy the aircon. Well done. And yes, the runs do get easier.

Re: Running in the cold
Lightweight layers are the way to go. I wear a running top that wicks the sweat away, with a light top and gilet over it (though I'm tempted to buy a thermal top). You can get running gloves & hats that do the same, though I just wear my normal hat and gloves then take them off when I warm up an...

Re: Do runs get easier??
People told me that when I started out and I didn't believe them, but it does get easier. :D Of course there are good days and bad days and I hit two plateaus - one of them was in Week 4. I did a thread about it here . When I struggled, I just kept repeating the run I was stuck on until I got throug...
