Re: New and desperately unfit but hello :)
Hi and well done for giving this a go! At the front end of the program, it seems like such a huge unattainable goal, but you'll be there before you know it. I completed the program about 6 weeks ago - I have run in the past but never like this. I did w8r2 with my neighbour this morning - we started ...

Re: Advice for running in the cold?
When I run in the cold I layer. Try a thinnish jacket that you can take off and tie around your waist mid run. I also find 3/4 sleeves useful, as long as it is a breathable material, as the thing that really gets to me is the cold air on my arms. For this reason, I also like wearing gloves if I'm ru...

Re: Roll of honour
Name: Rita Area: Australia Finished: early October 2012 (can't remember the exact date!) I used to run, but never got past 20 mins. Then I had my 3rd baby - I lost all my fitness, stacked on the weight, and felt terrible. I started this program many months ago, but never got past week 4. Then I deci...

Re: Has anyone lost weight doing this?
I have lost quite a bit of weight. I am up to week 7, and in the last 6 weeks or so I have lost about 6 kg. However, I also went sugar free about 6 weeks ago. I thought that this would be really hard but it's actually been quite easy. My appetite has decreased a lot, and I'm feeling much better. I a...

Re: Week 5 run 3 - The dreaded 20 minutes
Well done! It really is a great feeling, isn't it?
To everyone running with that 20 mins looming ahead - when you get there, you'll be ready. You'll surprise yourself and just do it.
All the best!

Tension busting
I had a really bad day yesterday. Decided I should run so got baby into bed then got changed into running clothes while the girls were getting ready for bed, thinking that when my husband got home I could go straight out while he put kids to bed. He got home, baby woke up. So he went in to her while...

Re: Keep going...
Thanks for the encouragement. I did w5r3 on Sunday - didn't think a few weeks ago that it would be as doable as it was. I used to force myself to run - now I look forward to it!

Re: Treadmill vs outside
Haven't run on a treadmill for a while, but it's certainly easier when conditions outside are nasty - and it is easier on your joints. It's also easier to control speed/slope etc. However, running outside is more interesting - so it depends on whether or not you need distraction from the pain to be ...

Re: Motivation for the program
Great motivations, everyone! Getting fit is such a good motivator. When my second daughter was a baby, I used to go out every evening and run 20 mins, up steep hills, too. Now she's 3 and my 3rd daughter has just turned 1. I miss the fitness and the me time. I want to go out and run every night agai...

Motivation for the program
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has set themselves any goals or rewards for getting through the C25K program? I am running with my neighbour. When we have finished the 9 weeks we are going to leave the kids with our husbands and go out for dinner and a movie. I also have a weight-loss incentiv...
