You may be right. I've spoken to other runners who said they had digestion problems when they started (though nothing as dramatic).

Re: Running leading to digestion/GI problems

Thanks for the extensive reply Ruger141. It sounds like you have it bad, but are managing it. My problems have eased a bit, but not entirely. Having (I think) ruled out diabetes, the doc is now looking to do some more blood tests before he decided whether to send me to a GI specialist. It could be l...

Running leading to digestion/GI problems

First: I finished the Get Running programme yesterday, and am dead chuffed. It's a great app, and I don't think I could have done it without it (and reading the forum has helped too). Thanks to all those involved in making the app, and contributing to the forum. Now for the problem... For the last f...

Re: Am I really going to be a runner?

Weird isn't it. I now find the main issue is finding interesting routes, and find I barely think about the running. Not saying this to sound smug, but to add weight to the view that it can be done and you can amaze yourself.

Re: Back pain in week 2

A quick update, for the benefit of anyone with similar issues who comes across this thread, and also to thank the posters above. I've just started week 5, and the back pain has got a fair bit better. I'm still getting some, but not as much. I got some better running shoes, but I think it's back stre...

Re: Will this APP work with Ipod shuffle

I don't think the shuffle can run apps. You'd need an iPod Touch or iPhone I'm afraid.

You may be able to pick up a second hand iPod Touch. If you go down this route make sure it can do multi-tasking (the first generation Touches can't, I don't know which is the earliest model that can).

Re: Back pain in week 2

Thanks for the tip. I'll pay attention to how I'm running to see if I'm doing that. I've kept on running, and have a nagging back ache, though notice it more when sitting or lying down, and not while walking or running. It doesn't seem to be getting worse, but I'd like it to go away. I've had my gai...

Re: Back pain in week 2

Thanks for the advice. I've had my gait analysed today, but am not keen on investing in running shoes until I work out whether my back problems are insurmountable and are going to stop me running. I've found some stretches and exercises which are recommended online. I'll give those a go and see how ...

Back pain in week 2

I injured my back in 2008 and it's only recently (last six months or so) been consistently good enough for me to consider jogging. I started the programme last week, and had no back pain, so was very happy. Following W2R2 I found my back pain waking me at night, so am now worried I won't be able to ...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Hi. Thought I'd give this a go. I'd like to get into running. I'm in my late 30s and trying to ensure I exercise regularly. As part of a general fitness drive (I recently started recording my calories and exercise on MyFitnessPal) I'm trying to ensure I exercise regularly. I find if I miss my weekly...
