Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Robin here, living in the UK fairly close to Cambridge, but working a fair distance away in Lincolnshire and approaching my 60th birthday next month. Overweight and unfit but in a job where we have organised PT twice a week. Five years ago I embarked on the C25K program and loved it - my only compet...

Re: W3R2 Inner knee pain - help!

Take no risks with your joints. If the inner knee pain continues go and see your doctor - I damaged my inner cartilage on W7R3 and am now looking at months before I can get back to running - probably after surgery. Oddly I can use my cross-trainer as there is no impact on the knee.

Re: W8 R2 Complete - What happened to my buddies?

I'm still here and cheering for you. It's going to be a few months before I can get back to it and I am really missing the runs but I am, however, looking forward to seeing you able members of our little band get to the end of the programme.

Yes Sue is doing brilliantly - I am very jealous of the Color Run (you don't know how much it pains me not to write "colour"!). I know our parkruns are good but finishing up looking like a smurf on acid looks like such brilliant fun. I hope the pair of you marry up for the one near you both.

Re: Week 8 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

I'm sorry to say, my online running pals, that my birthday present today is not to graduate (which was my aim a couple of weeks ago) but to be told by my GP that (as I sort of expected) I have damaged/torn my left medial meniscus (cartilage on the inside of the knee). In my twenties I did this on my...

Re: Week 8 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

Booked to see my GP tomorrow morning as my knee is just getting worse and it is nearly two weeks since W7R3. I am getting very frustrated at not being able to get out to run which is an absolute revelation to me.

A big week Linda - well done for being first of our group there. I have to say Sue's colour (yes, spelling...I know) looked like a lot of fun.

Way to go! One week and you're graduated. I'm waiting to see if I can run on Sunday - I think the actual joint is damaged though and if it is not possible to run I'll be rushing off to see my GP next week.
