I hate the bit when she says "well done you can stop running and walk again ....... In 10 seconds". It catches me out everytime.

Re: Fat boy running
I really love to read this sort of thing! As someone who feels like a galumping elephant instead of a streamline gazelle like all the other runners you see I completely relate to it.

Re: Week 6 questions
Hi ben
thanks for the advice. In my heart I know I need to rain in my keenness to run for longer periods.
My head wants more of the feeling of my legs moving.

Week 6 questions
Hi all!
I was so pleased to complete my day 3 of week 5 - 20 mins none stop jogging.
I have looked at week 6 and it goes back to intervals . Does anyone know why? Having run 20 mins comfortably I am tempted now to ignore day 1&2 of week 6 and just do 20 min jogs.
Am I being silly by doing that ...

Re: I'm starting to feel like a real runner!
It gets better! I did the next run today-20 mins with no walking and I did it.
It's half term and I decided to try to fit an extra run in. It went so well today and I feel so great that I am going to have to stop myself from running again tomorrow.

Re: Gutted :(
I would really recommend getting proper running shoes. I too was wearing some old trainer style things and the difference the proper trainers made was enormous.

I'm starting to feel like a real runner!
Hi all,
I did run 2 of week 5 today. Two 8 minute runs.
Today I feel like a proper runner. The runs were the longest I have done, I relaxed into them. I was not knackered either. My legs now seem to know what's expected of them too. Aches and pains I had in my shins and knees have gone too.

Re: Bad run today!
Thanks everyone!
Its normally me saying to people be positive and see the positives not the negatives.
I have since been out twice and both runs were much much better. The pains in my knee and shin have all but disappeared and so running is a hell of alot easier. I can do 5 mins and I know I can ...

Re: Life after get running - new app needed
I did have a look at it but it only works on iphones not the ipod touch that I have.
Once I get through the 9 weeks with get running i will use my nike+ features more. At the moment it is just recording (badly) my distances, and telling me after my 30 mins of internals of walking and jogging that I ...
