Re: Tread Mill v Outdoor Problem

I have done the couch to 5k app a couple of times. I am currently repeating as I took a 6 month break after running/walking a 10k. Anyway, I hate the treadmill, but am forced to use it due to the weather in CO. You can track your pace through a variety of phone apps. I use runmeter. You can set it t...

Re: Where in the world are you, and where do you run?

I'm live in a suburb just outside of Denver, CO. I tend to only run in my neighborhood. It does provide variety as I don't always stay on the same route. I can choose from small hill streets, to big hill streets to flat streets. I try to tackle them all on any given week to increase strength and sta...

Re: Finished! Or have I...?

I graduated last year, and am redoing the app because after training for a 10 k (that I ended up walking and running and never finished my full 10 k training) I needed to get back to the basics. I have also been inconsistent due to heat so wanted to start fresh and work on speed. I think for your fi...

Re: Running WITHOUT dieting?

I am not a fan of diets. I am a fan of eating the right foods, however. If you change nothing about what you eat while doing this app then I think it is safe to say you will notice a weight loss. If a person thinks they can eat more while doing this app then they probably won't see weight loss. A pe...

Re: everyone who has restarted the programme

That is awesome news to hear! I posted above you about using a 10k plan now after falling off the wagon and slacking a bit during the winter. I find having some kind of training plan helps me stay focused. Anyway, I am excited to hear you accomplished your nemesis and found a new motivation. I felt ...

Re: everyone who has restarted the programme

I am someone who completed the program last summer and then fell off the wagon, though not completely. I kept running but with no clear goals I would stop running about a mile in then walk run. I have done a couple of 5ks and even did a 4 mile race in November.... i ran/walked after taking off way t...

Re: New at running and 5 mile target run

I have read that cycling the day before a run will make your legs feel really tired and heavy during a run. I have heard if you are going to bike you should do it right after your run! So yes, the tiredness in your legs could surely be from the cycling!

Re: Treadmill Speed

Hi! Congrats on starting the program. I am a graduate of the program (I started last April) and have been visiting this website as I have started back on couch to 5k but I picked a point midway. With the winter and holidays I let my running go a bit and needed a way to recommit. With that being said...

Re: Four stone overweight but doing it!

I just wanted to chime in! Don't change your route to avoid the hills.... they make you stronger and when you can accomplish those hills it makes you feel 10X's more successful! Also, when you do your first road race you can't control the course so imagine how fast you will be if it is a flat course...

Re: My first failed attempt!!

Slow down! I, too, notice the speed of others and feel discouraged. Those people whose speed is faster have probably been running for years! Speed will come as you keep at it. For now, slow down the pace a little!
