Re: IT band knee pain

Great thanks for the advice. Orderd a foam roller and started stretches. Let's hope it works, I will be gutted if I can't do my run after all the hard work I've put in from having difficulty in running 1 min to running 45 mins.

IT band knee pain

Hi wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom regarding knee pain I believe from my IT band muscle. Currently training for my first 10k which is on 29th Sep, and was doing fine until the last couple of weeks. I tried resting for 10 days but my run today started out fine up to about 15 mins into my r...

Re: Im getting so behind :(

One song I like that keeps me going is Breathe by Kylie Minogue. She sings "breath it won't be long now" ! Definitely what I want to hear!!!! The other thing I do is look for a point up ahead, a tree or a lamppost and just think about getting to that point, that way you break the run down ...

Re: Week 6 run 3 - 25min - failed

Hi I've just started wk7 and completed run 1 this morning. Everyones comments are very helpful. I use endomondo along side the get running app to track my distance and time it takes per mile and I find that helpful too as each time I run I have the figures proving that I am getting faster. This then...

Re: Pain in my left calf muscle

When I stretch I use a rope as I have found it really helps to stretch the calf muscles properly. Have a look on YouTube or google for AIS stretching (active isolated stretching) as there are lots of benefits and this might help you stretch your calf muscles properly. Hope this helps. Good luck with...

Re: How much water should I be drinking whilst running?

Hi, I find I can't run without water, just feel the need to drink as my mouth gets very dry. I too don't like anything in my hands so I use a type of bum bag which has a bottle holder. It has a piece of elastic that slips easily over the bottle to hold it in place. I find positioning it so the bottl...

Re: Tension headache since started running

Thanks for advice. I am going to rest for a week and then try my old bra and be aware of my breathing. Thanks all.

Tension headache since started running

Hi, wonder if anyone can advise. I have just completed week 3. In the last week I have suffered with really bad tension headaches to the point tonight that when I was running I had a throbbing pain in the back of my neck/base of my scull. I have not suffered like this until now. I have noticed and i...
