Re: Half Marathon - Thanks to this app

I've got my eye on a full marathon next year. Would be quite a thing to say I've completed one! My hope is that I can stay in somewhat decent shape over the winter so that when I pick up running again next spring I won't have to start over. Love the success this program has given me!

Re: A graduate checking in.....

As a graduate it is so fun to check in and see the new wave of runners struggling through the program. For me the program was exactly what I needed to get me started and once I was going I couldn't stop! I finished the program in July and since then I have run a road race almost every weekend (so ma...

Re: Half Marathon - Thanks to this app

I just finished my first half marathon. My goal when I try a new distane is always to finish without walking and to not worry about my time. It took me 2:27:47, but I didn't walk at all. The first four miles were a long gradual hill, and the rest of the course was rolling hills. Overall very excited...

Re: Pacing in different terrain

Don't worry about pace. Just enjoy your runs. When I go on my training runs my pace is about 12:30. When I do a race it's 9:15. Do it for the endurance and try not to get too discouraged with your pace.

Re: I keep coming back to see how everyone is doing!

I was active in high school (10 years ago), but since then I hadnt done much. So technically I was a beginner when I started!

I keep coming back to see how everyone is doing!

I've been done with the program for a couple months now, and with the exception of one weekend I have run a race every weekend! I find that the races are what reall keeps me motivated, I've fallen in love with racing! At one point I signed up for a 10k thinking I would walk if I had to, but I went s...

Re: So emotional!!

I don't get to the blubbering wreck, but I easily could if I let myself. The two most recent emotional events were the first time I ran a 5k in under 30 minutes and the first time I ran a 10 k in under an hour.

Re: Silly idea?

My first "5k" was an obstacle course. I walked almost the whole thing because it was on a ski mountain and my partner was horribly out of shape. It was a lot of fun though, good luck!

Re: Moving on to the next app

So exciting to be finished huh?! I finished about 6 weeks ago. I signed up for a 5k obstacle course at a ski mountain and ended up walking most of it (I signed up with a partner so we had to stick together and he was not a runner, plus the course was on a mountain and not really something any human ...
