Re: everyone who has restarted the programme

Hi all, I'm back too!! Have stopped and started over and over, month after month, deleting old runs just to redo them ( usually W5 R1) and finally today I completed the dreaded W5 R3!!! I'm over the moon and so proud of myself! Even when I was following the programme to the letter this was always my...

Back on track.

Unfortunately life (shift work, birthdays, weekends out, weather) has recently got in the way of my 'get running' progress, but this morning I dug (VERY) deep to muster some will power, strapped the trainers on and headed out to FINALLY finish W4!!!!! I feel like such a slacker, I was doing so well ...

W4R1............Again!!!!!

Morning All, So, due to this horrible cold, I've had to go back a week and today I ran W4R1 again..........it was so hard!!! The last 5 minutes I was actually begging Claire to tell me I only had 10secs left, it was complete torture. I very nearly gave up. I'm not sure whether its because I'm still ...

Re: A scared smoker

Hi reetbomb, I'm a smoker too (not 20 a day I must admit), but I can assure you your body will be able to cope. On the occasions when my lungs have felt tight (even the non smokers get that when starting exercise) I just slow my pace and breathe deeply, controlling it more so rather than heavily pan...

Still plodding along.....

Hi all, So.......I haven't run in 9 days as I've been laid up in bed with a cold!! Nightmare!! After doing so well and making really good progress, I've finally managed to get back out there and redo W3R3 as I thought it'd be better go back a bit to take it easy instead of pushing myself to finish W...

Phew!!! Another toughy!

So, just completed W4R1 and it was a real struggle. My breathing was ok, no severe panting and my lungs didn't feel like they were going to explode, but my poor poor legs felt like I was running in wet concrete, they were so heavy and tired! I kept a VERY slow steady run pace (I'm sure I must look r...

Re: Get Running + RunKeeper = Awesome! (and some advice)

Thanks Timl2k10, I'm glad its as straight forward as that, just running the two apps along side each other. I've got W4R1 today so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out. My ideal aim is to become one of "those people" that just "pop out for a run", and hopefully if and when...

Re: Get Running + RunKeeper = Awesome! (and some advice)

Hi Timl2k10,

I've taken your advice and downloaded the run keeper app (I'm yet to use it) but it looks quite advanced as I'm only just about to start W4.

Can you give me a few tips on the best way to use it (ie, the audio cues, play lists, runkeeper live, etc).

Thanks and kind Rgds.

Re: W3 And I thought things were going so well.....

Hi Dixie, I've just completed W3R3 and I must say it was slightly easier than expected, I feel far more confident about week 4 now. I've been updating the post "wow....that was tough" with all my recent runs, the ups and downs of them all and my progression, it looks like we're at the same...
