Re: Where to buy good running shoes?

I watched a Panorama program on the sports industry, their experts said as long as your trainers are comfortable then that's good enough. Getting yourself measured and being supplied with specially made trainers was both expensive and unnecessary. I bought myself some decent Nike running shoes and I...

Re: Silly idea?

I started on the 4th of July, last night I ran for 50 minutes covering 8.5km. I was a complete non runner before so if I can make that sort of progress in two and a half months then getting up to 18 miles by next year is doable I think. Keep at it and once you've completed the program just keep addi...

Re: W6r3 now that's gonna be a challenge

I found the 20 min run a real slog, it almost put me off running!!!
When it came to the 25 min runs I was dreading them but they were actually ok, by the time I had finished week 7 I was pretty comfortable running 25 mins. I recently ran the first run of week 8 but ran 30 instead of 28 mins.

Week 5 run 3

I've just finished the first 20 min run!!! I am buzzing, I was actually looking forward to it after how easy I finished the previous session of 2x8 mins. I was in for a shock though as I don't like to say it but I found it really difficult at times, mainly between 8 & 13 minutes. I didn't stop t...

Re: Week 9 - almost finished!

Well done! I'm on the last run of week 3 so just a beginner really. How are you going to be carrying on when you've finished this?

Re: Drinking when running

I take a bottle of water with me but find myself swallowing a little drop here and there but generally I tend to swill it in my mouth to hydrate that then spit it out.
I've only just started week 3 so I'm not the most experienced person to give advice but it's worth giving it a go.

Re: Just started

Run 3 of week one done!!!
That seemed to be the toughest of the 3 for some reason, I couldn't be bothered but I'm glad I did it.

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Hi, my name is Simon, I'm 38 and haven't really done much exercise since I stopped playing football about 7 years ago. I'm in Crawley west Sussex and I'm looking forward to hitting week 9.

Just started

Just done W1R1 I was leaving it till today to start then the rotten weather almost put me off but I thought if I don't start today I never will. I thought the 3rd and 4th runs were the worst then I found the minutes running flew by. I can't wait to progress and I'm weirdly looking forward to Wednesd...
