Re: What are you listening to?
Mainly dance/house music. I'm not that into it, but it seems to suit running well. It's up tempo, tracks are mixed so there are no annoying pauses in between tracks and I don't tend to get distracted by it as I would with my usual mix of music (rock/blues).

Re: Shinsplints and Knee Pain
I'm running through shinsplints at the moment (W3R1 completed this evening) and they're starting to improve. The advice on the links below is REALLY helping. http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/beating-injury/shinsplints---how-to-beat-them/234.html http://foothealth.about.com/od/exercisefeet/ss/ShinSplint...

Re: W1R2 - SHINS!!
Now onto W2R2 with a brand new pair of shoes, fitted at a running store. Obscenely comfortable for my feet, and my shins feel a little better, but still getting some pains. The guy in the shop was really helpful, and said that shin pains are not uncommon in new runners, even with new, properly fitte...

W1R2 - SHINS!!
Hi all On my second rest day, having completed W1R2 yesterday. All going fine, bar a few aches and pains. Stretching after exercise really helps with the pains in the thighs and calves, but my shins are really aching. I read somewhere that shin pains could be down to poor technique, bad shoes or may...

Re: Runners knee
Hmm. It's difficult to say. If it is getting better, keep doing what you are doing and don't test it with a run until you're completely sure you're up to it. Unfortunately, it's one of those situations where only you will be able to tell. If it was me, I'd give it another week and then try, unless t...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!
Hi I'm Jonny, 39, devoted husband and father of two, which has, until recently, left little time for exercise. Used to run, hike, swim, cycle and play football regularly, but in the last ten years that has gradually dwindled away to virtually no physical exercise at all. As such, I am now overweight...
