Re: Go me! :)

Hey Dixie, Don't feel bad about the 'failure'. I used to be so obsessed about not failing that I would re-run days that I had already completed, just because I felt I wasn't ready for the next step and wished to consolidate. But I finally realised that it was actually better to fail at a new run, be...

Re: And so it begins

W7R2&3 I have now completed week seven. The second and third runs were not as hard as the first was, and I completed all three runs successfully. However, I'm pretty anxious right now. Despite being able to physically complete the longer runs, I seem to be struggling with them on a psychologica...

Walking inbetween running days?

I was just wondering what the guidelines are for walking on non-running days? Obviously we all have to walk every day, but is there a recommended limit in case it compromises our leg muscles for the next day's run?

Re: And so it begins

Catgal and Toadie : thanks so much for the encouragement. Boy, it has been a journey to get here, and yet it oddly feels like it has flown by. I can't believe I beat the intervals...my god! The amount of times I've tried and failed run/walk apps before after weeks one or two. Now I'm running for 25...

Re: And so it begins

W6R2 Wow. I've really found it tough to get out for my runs lately. I have so few windows in the week when I can get them done, and I seem to have been cursed by a predatory rain cloud! But I finally got in W6R2. It was tough. Really tough. Probably the toughest run to date. I had heard horror stor...

Re: And so it begins

W6R1 After having to kick my heels for another few days because of the rain, I finally got around to W6R1. I am very pleased to report that it went absolutely fine. I had been somewhat nervous about the prospect, reading how others had struggled with the intervals after the 20 minute run. I'll admi...

Re: And so it begins

W5R3 - THE 20 MINUTER Huaaaaah! The last couple of weeks have been tough; I only have a small window to get in my jogging each day, and have found four or five days to be rained out. Getting out yesterday I was faced with a choice - do I repeat W5R2 after five days out of action, or do I finally ta...

Re: And so it begins

Ack, I envy you Catgal! I am stuck on W5R2 because of the weather in my region. I had an entire week washed out by the rain. The good news was that when I did take to the road and repeat W5R2 after a week away, I was still able to do it absolutely fine. Dreading the 20-minuter though...congratulatio...
