After writing this I can now confirm, THEY WORK!
They gave a little pain on the balls of feet though so may need to wear extra thick socks for padding. Was so great, I think there may have been an extra spring in my step. Puddles, ice and snow balls, no problema!

Thanks...I'm pleased to report I feel like a 'runner' again. I had a good session today, walked up the hill as warm up and then ran along the Esplanade.
