Treadmill Tips?
Due to the dark nights and poor weather, I'm struggling to get in three runs a week. I hate treadmills but now, reluctantly, I think I'll have to start using a the treadmill at the gym to keep my level of fitness up (I completed Get Running back in August). Has anyone got any tips? Main problems are...

Re: Distance
There's a great website www.walkjogrun.net where you can go on and plot routes on maps, aerial shots or combined map/aerials and it will calculate the distance for you. If you know the duration of your run, this can be entered in order to calculate pace. And if you enter your weight it will estimate...

Re: Roll of honour
Name: Lorna Age: 48 Area: Coatbridge, Scotland Completed: 11th August Comments: Did it!! :P Would never have believed it nine weeks ago! Distance wasn't that good tonight (about 2.8 miles) and the last 10 minutes were a struggle (stating the obvious now but I don't recommend that you eat a bowl of c...

Re: Time Breakdown
The warm-up is always 5 minutes and the cool-down walk is always another 5 minutes. For wk 1, run 1 you have 8 runs at 1 minute each with 7 walks in between the runs of 1.5 min each. So total time for wk 1, run 1 is 28.5 minutes.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!

Re: What should we do next?!
Got to agree with bassbaritone. I'm starting week 9 on Saturday and am wondering where I go next. Get Running suits me - I know exactly which days I'm going out and have built it into my weekly routine. I downloaded another app but the schedule is pretty random and it assumes that you want to train ...

Re: 20 minute run in week 5?!
Hi Violabird - I was feeling exactly the same as you last week 5, run 2 but was pleasantly surprised when I managed week 5, run 3. I just kept the pace down and focussed on completing the 20 minutes. Just watch your pace and you'll manage it! And don't make the same mistake as I did on week 6, run 1...

Re: Finished week 5 Woo Hoo!
So pleased!! Finished wk5, run 3 tonight!! Total distance was a bit over 2 miles - and I did it in torrential rain with a bit of thunder thrown in for added excitement (which you would think I would be used to after having lived in Scotland for 48 years). No way did I think 5 weeks ago that I could ...

Ordinary headphones don't work for me either - I start sweating and they pop out so I've started using sports in-ear headphones. They have a soft rubber piece that pushes right into the ear and a hook that passes around the outside of the ear. I've been using these for a while and they never fail.

Re: iOS4
I installed iOS4 a few days ago and had exactly the same problem tonight - music stopped but I carried on not realising that the app had paused. Thankfully I was on a 1.5 minute walk at the time - hate to imagine what it would have been like if I'd been running! This was week 3, run 3 and I've had n...
