Using Runkeeper alongside Get Running?

For those of you who like your stats; just found out that Runkeeper Pro is free until the end of January! I've been using the free version alongside Get Running, and find it's brilliant for tracking progress; distance covered etc via GPS. As long as you've got multitasking ability, you can run both ...

Re: How do I speed up???

I've been tracking my progress since finishing using Runkeeper. There's a free version, and the pro version which you usually have to pay for is free till the end of January, so go get it now! It tracks your speed/pace/distance using GPS and is fantastic for charting progress. I'm starting again on ...

Re: Week 4... Feeling disheartened

From my experience, I would say that at this stage put any thoughts of distance and pace right out of your head. It's hard enough to keep going, and if you try to keep your pace up to a high level as your run times increase, then you run the risk of not being able to keep it up and then feeling dish...

Re: running with a stroller?

Amazing! I've tried running whilst pushing my 2 year old son and can't manage more than a few minutes, despite his calls of 'faster mummy!' I'm just getting back into it after getting to the last week a few months ago then injuring myself, but even when I could run the 30 mins there was no way I cou...

Re: This might be running heresy but...

I'd recommend you read 'born to run' which expands on this subject and is very inspiring too! Like you I started suffering an injury from around week 3 (ankle pain) and after looking into 'barefoot running' decided to try running in minimal footwear. I run in wetsuit shoes, as I can't afford 'proper...

Re: Very sore calf

Glad it worked for others too, I made such a breakthrough when I tried it!

Just recovering from an injury to my foot, (not related to running) then I'll get out there again, very frustrated as I only had one run left of the program when I had to stop!

Re: Very sore calf

Sounds like normal muscle pain to me - I've had aching legs the whole way through, just because I'm using muscles I haven't used for years! I also had pain particularly in my left calf muscle, and asked sone advice of my brother (who's a serious runner). He advised me to try altering my breathing pa...

Ooooooh, 10K? Yes please! I finish Get Running in a week and am guessing it won't be out then, but I reckon I could just keep working on improving my distance in the 30 minutes while I wait...

Excited!

Re: Side stitch while running

Hi, Not sure if this will help at all but I recently found a solution to a problem I had, and it may be worth a try! I didn't have a stitch but I had severe muscle burn in my calves, which over time just got worse in my left leg, whilst my right leg got better. I was really worried that I was someho...
