Re: Running Location

Such an interesting topic! I live just round the corner from a park, so I run there. Generally I can complete two circuits of it in my Get Running session (about 3k in total). But it's often full of other runners, people walking dogs, prams, kids playing football, tramps having a wander, etc - it'd ...

Re: Making a running playlist!

Calvin Harris, Rihanna, and anything with a dancey beat are really good for me, even though they're not the sort of thing I'd listen to while I'm not running.

Re: W3R1

Haha, it's not possible for me to run so slowly that I don't get out of breath... I'm just that unfit! WELL DONE tryingtorunmum, knew you could do it! I know what you mean about that feeling when she says 'only a minute and a half left', I was like ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! I wanted to stop then and the...

Re: W3R1

Good luck! I was terrified of W3R1 too, but it's honestly not as bad as you think, and the app is extra helpful this week, too, with telling you to slow down and reminding you of your progress. I think the biggest thing is it just feels like you're running for a long time - it feels like you should'...

Re: W3R1 Done!

Thank you so much! That's really encouraging and helpful. I think I have been going too fast because there have been other people on the same route as me, walking, and I've wanted to overtake them as quickly as possible because I feel so self-conscious! Maybe I should go out earlier in the morning t...

Re: Park Runs

I'm still well away from doing a Parkrun (still only on week 3 of Get Running!) but I've heard lots of good things about them. There's one in my area, but apparently everyone completes it in about half an hour and I'm sure it'd take me a lot longer!

Re: W3R1 Done!

Thanks! I did the second one today and it felt just as hard, though. I really almost stopped about 40 seconds from the end of the last three-minute run, and the only thing that got me through was sheer bloody-mindedness, but I hated every second of that last run! There's another one to go this week,...

W3R1 Done!

Phew, just managed w3r1 this morning! It was tough but I did it. After being stuck on week 2 for three weeks because of illness, I was really looking forward to moving on, and I figured I'd be ready for it, but it felt like such a step up. Something I liked though was that Clare seemed to be aware t...

Re: WOW....... That was tough!!!

Well done! Look on the bright side - you've completed it both times, which is a pretty huge achievement. And nobody ever said it was going to be easy...! I start week 3 tomorrow, feeling pretty nervous...
