Re: Go me! :)

Thanks Timl2k10 and Toadie! :) My run yesterday went well - I decided after Monday's 30 mins just to abandon W8 and go into W9, since the difference between running 28 mins and 30 mins did not seem much - and I again completed 30 mins. I guess I don't 'graduate' until I have manged the 5km in the ti...

Re: Go me! :)

Well, I have done it! 30 mins! :D Last week, I ran all my W7 runs, 25 mins each time. It was weird because they seemed to get harder rather than easier! The first mile was (and continues to be) the hardest. Then the run feels much more comfortable. However, Run 3, on Friday, I found I had to hang in...

Re: New and desperately unfit but hello :)

Hi Lin I am a 47 year old female - I was fit and sporty at school but have not done a thing since (apart from some racket sports a few years ago, until I badly injured my ankle). My Dad died suddenly and relatively young (71) in the summer, plus other people around me seem to be starting to suffer w...

Stick at it Boperella - it is definitely worth it and the app makes it so much easier! Good luck!

Re: Week 5 run 3 - The dreaded 20 minutes

Well done Timl2k10! Once you have cracked that 20 minute run, the rest is easy! The body will be willing I am sure, it's just getting the mind won over! If you are anything like me, going back to the intervals in week 6 was tedious and the walking was almost harder than the running. When the 2...

Re: In love with running again

Hi slizzard - start the programme as soon as you can. You don't mention whether you want to do it for fitness reasons or for 'feeling more positive' reasons but whichever it is I really believe running can help in both areas. I am definitely fitter but I also get a really good feeling about what I a...

Re: I DID IT!!!!!

Congratulations Catgal63! I am afraid I can't help on the 'increasing your speed suggestions' as I am a couple of weeks behind you and will be needing the same advice (only running my 25 min runs at around 4.5 mph too) but well done! :D

Re: Go me! :)

Hi Timl2k10 - my pace is no different to yours but I reckon we can all just concentrate on increasing that once we have cracked the 30 mins! I did my W7R1 this morning (a 25 mins non stop). It went fine - it was not quite as easy as it felt on Friday (which was just weird! :? ) but it felt achievabl...
