Re: W9R3 done! Graduation day!
I'm in the middle of the "sub-65-minute 10k" programme from RunKeeper - a very good app that records your route on a map, shows how your pace varies over the run, and other goodies. The only drawback is the rather stern woman who does the prompts - quite a change from Claire!

Re: Week 2
Sally - you might want to see your doctor about the muscle pain. When I first started trying to run I got bad pain in the calf muscles (also to a lesser extent when I walked fast) which meant that by week 2 I could barely keep up. After a bit of investigation it turned out that I had a condition cal...

Re: Is anyone else afraid of week 5???
I felt like that about the 20minute run in week 5, but I managed it much more easily than I expected. Go into it with a positive attitude and take it at a steady pace and you should be fine - good luck!

Re: Distance run in 30 minutes
My 30-minute runs were pretty consistently around the 2.4 mile mark. Still a way to go to 5km..

Re: Finished! Or have I...?
Thanks, Verity. I'm still looking forward to hearing what Claire has to say when I "really" finish the course.. I might carry on with W9 for a while, but I'm also thinking about doing one of the easier programmes on the RunKeeper app.

Finished! Or have I...?
Well, that's strange: I've just finished what I thought was W9R3 (yay me!), but it seems that the run I did on Saturday somehow didn't get registered, so the app thinks I still have to do another run. I was surprised when Claire said "I'll see you next time"... I've been wondering what to ...

Re: Increasing speed
Thanks Petra - I'm already using Runkeeper to measure my speed and distance, and I've been looking into its workout programmes to see what I might do after Week 9 of get Running (just finished W7 today!) "Sub 65 min 10k" is probably the most likely contender at the moment. Runner08 - well ...

Increasing speed
Ok, so I've done two of the three 25-minute runs in Week 7, which I would never have believed possible a few weeks ago, but my speed is very low - just over 5 mph ( 8kph) overall. At this rate I'll only be doing a little over 4km on the 30-minute runs, and it would take me 35-40 mins to run 5k. Shou...
