Advice needed on calf pain

Hi, Week 8, run 1 today and really struggled with calf muscle pain in one leg. I kept going and wonder if that was the right thing or if the sensible thing would have been to stop. I keep doing stretching exercises now to try and ease it. What's my best plan of action now? I don't want to miss my ne...

Re: Week 6

You're right, I was assuming that it would be a breeze after 20 mins straight. Pride comes before a fall me thinks!

Fantastic to read this, you are so inspiring! How is the training going for the half marathon in October?

Week 6

Hi, Just want to check - having completed the 20 min straight run today for week 5 run 3 is it right that week 6 goes back to 5,8,5 minutes runs, with 3 minute walks in between then week 2 is 10 minutes with a break in between? I'm not complaining, it just seems to be easier than w5r3. Is that right...

Re: Week 5, Run 3 - OMG, WTF, Yay

Shocked to discover that I've got a 20
Min run next time (although strangely the app says that my next run is next Wed!) is it right though that week 6 run 1 goes back to shorter intervals? I'm wondering if my app is all confused!

Re: Week 2

I know, taking a sneak preview of the weeks ahead I can't imagine how I'll be able to do it. Good to know there are a few of us together! I run with my black lab called Ellie. Well, I jog, she doesn't even need to break in to a trot!

Re: Week 3 - 4 Huuuuge jump

Hey artyfarty, what did you decide to do? I'll be hitting the 3 min run next week and wondering what that will be like so I can empathise with the increase the following week. I would be easy to lose heart if you ask too much of your body so I think that repeating a week sounds like a good plan. Jane

Week 2

Hi there, Jane from sticky, humid Chilterns in England. Just about to go on the second run for week two today and would love to hear from anyone else at this stage and where you are running.

Re: Week 1

I did it! Can't believe how unfit I am but feel nicely smug now. Anyone else starting today?

Thanks for the tip about music, I'll try that out next time.

Re: Week 1

I'm off to buy running shoes tomorrow and then do the first run in the afternoon / evening. Actually feel a bit nervous!

Does the app let you listen to music at the same time?
