Re: Which Sports Headphones Shall I Buy?

Hi, I don't use specific sports ones, I don't think you need them. I just use a good pair of ear buds (soundmagic E10) with memory foam tips, which help noise isolation and also keeps them in your ears as you have to squish them down before you put them in, then they expand to form a nice tight but ...

Re: Let me re-introduce myself

Hi guys i'm still about every now and again. I completed the program in early mid Jan and have just been doing 5k runs usually 3 times per week but have been a bit slack lately and only done two runs in two weeks. I'm back on it now and have done 2 runs this week so far and heading out tomorrow, I t...

Re: The Psychological Barrier

I used to run with music but got a bit bored of it so thought I'd try listening to podcasts and I enjoyed that more as I'd switch off. Plus, as a lover of heavy metal the fast aggressive music was making run at too fast a pace! Try to find some podcasts that might interest you, I like: The Bugle - a...

Re: Just started! Need Buddies!

Hi, I'm in Newcastle in the UK. I finished week 9 last week and it was tough but I did it and I've never been a runner, like, never ever! I think the key to why the this kind of training works is in its structure, as it sets increasingly difficult goals, albeit slowly and you really surprise yoursel...

Re: Any other newbies?

I'm not sure what to do really, 2nd child is due in April so time to get out could be an issue as well as exhaustion ;) Might have a look online and have a look at other programs and recommendations. i've found podcasts good but had to try a few to find interesting ones; I like The Guardian Football...

Re: Any other newbies?

I did it, I graduated last night and felt like I could have done the 30 min run again :D It's weird, no two runs are the same. I really struggled with the penultimate run of week 9 but last night I felt great. I changed from listening to music to listening to podcasts so maybe I'm switching off more...

Re: Any other newbies?

It's amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it and have the right training program. I'm well chuffed, just finding it difficult to get out and finish week 9 coz of the weather had gale force winds up here in the north east since yesterday and forecast until monday................boooooooo...

Re: Any other newbies?

Happy new year. I've got the last run of week 8 to do tonight but got to admit that I've struggled to get out. I've made week 8 last about 10 days or so as I ran on Xmas day then new years eve so will probably find tonight tough. Week 5 is a big jump but it gives you a real buzz and sense of achieve...

Re: Any other newbies?

Hi, I think I'm about a week ahead of you and I can't quite believe the progress. I've just done week 5 run 3 (run 20 mins without stopping) and managed it OK. I can't believe 4 weeks ago I was panting and puffing so much on week 1 after only a minute of running. I've never been a runner, whenever I...
