Re: Just finishing week 2

Good luck this time round Leigh! I live in the hills an hour NW of Lyon, France. It is starting to snow lightly. Hope to get out for a jogging session at lunch time. Looking forward to summer!

Re: Just finishing week 2

January 2015 and here I am back again! This now being my 60th year - time to get back into it again. Must be 5 years since I first used this app. Still the best running app around. Have had a lay off because of a torn hamstring - and here I am again - at the end of week 2 and feeling strong. This is...

Re: Keep Running - 5to10k

I kicked off with this app on January the 3rd last year. I am running 8ks regularly now and never felt fitter (I am an older bugger - 56 years - but as the cliche goes - you don't stop running because you get old, you get old because you stop running!). Anyway, I get all the motivation I need from t...

Re: Just finishing week 2

Well here I am back again after nearly a year and a half. Had an extended lay off over the winter - and just getting back into it again. Entered the ballot for the London Marathon yesterday - so here's hoping - will hear in October. Nominated charity is the Starlight Foundation. If I miss out for th...

Re: It all started on the 4th of January....

Finished my first 10k race in Lyon yesterday. Along with 15,000 others (marathon, half and 10k). Thanks Get Running, it's great to be a born again runner!

Re: Just finishing week 2

Just finished my first "race". 10 ks in Lyon. Messed up my calf muscle but carried on slowly and ran the whole way. Happy with that.

It all started on the 4th of January....

Every year I proudly announce that I am going to run a marathon (having run the last one 20 years before) - and by the middle of January it is all over for another year. Well, this year I signed up for the Get Running app and in no time at all I was off and running. Literally. 7 months later I am st...

Re: Just finishing week 2

I guess "race" is not the right word - because for me I am not racing to beat anyone - I am just running for the fun of running with other people and for the challenge of getting fit and being able to complete the distance. Running into the stadium after running 56 ks non stop around the C...

Re: Just finishing week 2

Hi Dawn, just running for fun and for fitness and because I love it - I was never competitive before - but managed to plod along for 56 ks once, in 5 hours and 30 seconds! The Two Oceans 56 k Marathon in Cape Town. Also ran many marathons - and one 3:30 marathon. However, I have been very lazy for t...

Re: I'm a runner again.

Here we are, a few more months down the track! I was in Malta last week and ran 9 ks. Just come back from a hilly 6 ks in Lyon. If I had not started using GetRunning on the 1st of January - I would still be sitting on my but today!
