Re: New Start New Runner

I did the next session next day and took it slowly but this time my knees have really ached so much so I have had trouble even walking. I keep massaging them with arnica gel and keep stretching them out. I'm a bit worried now though having read that you can cause serious problems with knee joints. ...

Re: Proper Warm Up

Hi Monkey, Just to emphasise what the others have said, Get Running will instruct you to warm up and cool down for all of the runs, and please do this as it's important to avoiding injury and also to enjoyment of the run! In the first two weeks, in the descriptive run text, the warm up and cool down...

Re: New Start New Runner

:-) Well done Rosieg!! You're doing great! I'd suggest giving the run a go, and taking it really easy. If you can, try to have a longer warm up at the start to get as loose as you can. If the run doesn't work out, then if you can, just have a nice walk – you can do the run any time, it's ready when ...

Re: running more than every other day

Hi KMarch, I'll second what JaySonJaz says – time resting is important. However, you don't have to stick rigidly to the exact dates that Get Running suggests. If you run on days that better fit your schedule, Get Running will adapt and update the suggested schedule. Do try to get four days of rest i...

Re: Barefoot Running

:-) Awesome! Go for it! Take it very gradually. Your calves are going to love it ;-) Stretch them like a fiend and do extra stretches when you get a chance (you know, waiting in a queue for a coffee, stuck in a dull meeting, etc). I'd also suggest getting out and walking in the shoes before you begi...

Re: New starter - volume issues on app

Hi flatmouse, Thanks for getting in touch. Well done with your running – you've got a good distance and your speed is already pretty snappy! I can't be sure, but usually when people find it hard to hear the audio instructions, their iPhone or iPod has got itself in to a bit of a pickle (I wish this ...

Re: Back again like a bad penny! ;)

Hi Dawn, Glad to see you are back, nice one! Heat can make running hard, I agree with you. It helps if you can shed as much heavy clothing as possible so the air you are moving through can get to your skin to cool you off. One thing I've noticed is on a really hot day, if there is a breeze, I'm fine...

Re: 9 weeks of running, done :-)

:-) Absolutely brilliant, caffrin! We'd love to put a photo of you up on our home page (and of every other finisher too), ideally as you're running over a finish line in your running gear! Have a look at How it'll look , and if you're happy to, send us a picture and a brief explanation to i-got-runn...

Re: Just starting :D

Wow – that sounds like you have covered a lot of ground. How fast do you think you run? I think that if you want to, you can probably respectably slow down a little, and perhaps that will help your sinuses :-)

Happy running,
