Re: What do you listen to when you are running then?? ;)

I listen to all sorts of things, mostly music. I found that while some podcasts can be great to run to -- very distracting! -- because the podcasts I listen to vary lots from week to week, with different lineups and guests and topics, it's hard to know in advance that you're going to like an episode...

Re: Question about week 5

I did it, I did it, I did it! I actually did 25 ... I added the last five because I just felt like the first part of the run was tough and very very slow at parts... I still stopped even though I felt I coul run further ... So I don't think I overdid it( I read your advice on another post BenJohn) ...

Re: Running after a break

Hi Debbie, Everybody's different! But -- I'd say play it safe and go out for a week 1 run, and see how it feels. The last thing you want is to put yourself off by trying to do too much when you come back to running, and being disappointed. Far better to go out for a week 1 run and cheer yourself up ...

Re: Running affecting eating/what are you eating?

Unfortunately for my waistline, getting running hasn't done a lot for my appetite -- I still eat lots! Although I have lost around ten pounds, I think, last time I checked, over the course of about ten months, so I guess I'm at least heading in the right direction. Although after a few experiences w...

Carrying on from 5K

Hi all! A couple of people have asked me how I carried on running after I got through Get Running. The good news is that I've done really well -- my last training run was 12K, which I didn't find that difficult, even though there was a lot of uphill. The bad news is that I've not been following any ...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Hi Emmie, Glad to hear you're getting back into exercise. It's never easy after a long time off, so do keep things nice and gentle, and make sure you're following your doctor's advice! Great work on completing week one; that's probably the hardest week, in some ways, as you've got no momentum behind...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

Hi Geramy!

Well done on getting through Week 5! As I said in the other topic about it, Week 5 is a real turning point in Get Running -- you should do really well with the rest of the program now you're through it!

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

After a 6 month absence from the gym due to work commitments I am desperate to find a fitness routine that fits with my lifestyle. I am feeling pretty confident this will be the right road to follow. Hi Green chic! Welcome to Get Running! I know bit about how you feel -- after I had to stop doing k...

Re: Question about week 5

Hi Paul, Yeah, the last run of week 5 definitely seems to be the "leap of faith" point on the C25K. Certainly when I did it it was a bit of a challenge. But then it was also a horrible, rainy day, which didn't help, and I made it through anyway. The good news is that it's definitely do-abl...
