Re: Week 5 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

According to the nice lady on my headphones I am, as of about three hours ago, a "runner". A twenty minute non stop run (in 27C I may add). Not much to some people but to me nothing short of a bloody miracle. I am still 4.5 stone overweight (for our across the pond pals a stone = 14 pounds...

Re: Week 5 R1 DONE! Is puking an option? :)

Well done - I made the mistake of doing a W2 run with a hangover which was a very bad thing indeed so your delaying W5R1 can only have been a good thing. I did W5R2 yesterday along a canal path in 25 degrees C which was a shock to the system, and I scared the wildlife by wearing shorts for the first...

Re: Week 4 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

I'm eating much more carefully than I have in the past (but a large part of that is to maintain downward trend of my weight). Hummus, sun dried tomatoes, soup as an entire meal, fruit etc. I draw the line at giving up the red wine though! I do stretch Linda and it does help a great deal. A change of...

Re: Week 4 (mon-wed-fri) by Linda231

Just finished W4R3(+3) of C25K. Taken me time to get here due to nearly two weeks out with ligament problems and repeating W4 to be on the safe side but I've just recorded my best average speed yet. Huzzah! Bring on W5, I cry - the third run of that week does not scare me - oh no not at all (actuall...

Re: W5R3

Congrats. Mine is just over a week away and I am looking forward to the challenge. Even now I appreciate its psychological importance to me.

Re: Unfit and 50

Just coming up 55, very overweight, diabetic and with high BP. Lost 13 Kg through a virus at the back end of last year and just not being particularly hungry/guzzling too much chateau collapso so I embarked on this to capitalise on it. Now W4 (again - bad ligament and knee pain meaning 1.5 weeks res...

Re: Sticky: Introductions!

That's me in then. Aged nearly 55, 5'6" and very overweight. Do a fair bit of walking/hill walking but haven't run in decades (OK nearly 3 decades). Diabetic and with high blood pressure but losing weight as we speak. Did my W1R1 yesterday and despite being a tad stiff today am looking forward ...
