Re: A scared smoker
When I started two weeks ago, it was on a whim. It was. 5 am in the morning and couldn't sleep because for some reason I was feeling like I could run a marathon. So I do the next best thing and started Get Running. I do not smoke, but I am terribly out if shape, very sedentary. I mowed the lawn with...

Re: Which are the best Headphones for Running?
I am bumping this topic up to give props to Apple's new EarPods. They are simply amazing! At $30 they are a no brainer. They won't fit everyone's ears, but if they do they stay put, have wonderfully balanced highs, mid-range and surprisingly deep lows. They are all plastic so nothing to wear out. I ...

Re: EXHUSTED after a run
I usually wait about three hours after eating to run. Digestion is actually pretty labor intensive, so I like to run on a fairly empty stomach.

Re: Get Running + RunKeeper = Awesome! (and some advice)
I discovered that the RunKeeper website accepts GPX files from any GPS program that can export them. So you don't actually have to but the RunKeeper iPhone app. The iPhone RunKeeper app seems to smooth out the data points a bit much or doesn't take enough samples. When I take sharp turns it shows me...

Re: I keep injuring my knee!!!!!!!!!!!
The human knee is actually poorly designed, from an evolutionary perspective. It's somewhat of a miracle that this part of the body was able to evolve to support bipedalism (walking on two legs). The knee has to support most of our weight and take a tremendous amount of impact and stress. My only ru...

Re: In love with running again
Good luck with your 20 minute run! Good or bad let us know how it goes, with my new shoes and the cooler weather in Florida, I'm wishing I could run every day!

Re: W2R1 success
Run 2 was actually too easy! There were various factors, new shoes (the ones I had were way past their prime), cooler weather and initially slight calf cramping which made me decide to keep it slow. RunKeeper indeed shows I ran slower this time, <4.5mph. I'd like to run closer to 5mph (and eventuall...
