It all depends how unwell you are. If you are running a fever or unwell with a viral illness it is actually dangerous to exercise intensively as sometimes viruses can affect the heart muscle which leaves you vulnerable to abnormal heart rhythmns. My understanding is that if you run on a treadmill you should use a slight incline . This then adds some effort. When you run outside you propel yourself along, a treadmill moves under your feet for you, an incline counteracts this slightly representing normal running effort.

Wow. Just did W5 R2. A week ago I nearly threw up doing a week 4 run. Nearly didn't attempt week 5. Thankyou to everyone who posted about week 5 and trusting the programme. I did Week 5 run 1 yesterday. It went quite well considering that week 4 run 3 saw me nearly being sick. I have only found my rhythmn once or twice and had been hoping it was going to get easier sooner! Week 5 feels intimidating. Will do run 2 tomorrow and hopefor the best. Can't imagine 20 minutes!!
