Re: I did it! 30 minutes!

I just jogged for 30 minutes too! Can you believe how far we have come in the last few weeks!? It was so slow and I only covered 4 kms, but I am so happy because my goal for today was just to confidently complete the time and I wanted to go at a pace that enabled me to easily achieve it. Soon we wil...

Re: Week one...argh!!

I find that I sometimes got tummy cramps during my runs. Number one rule is you can't eat a good time before your session, this will definitely give you cramps, so I go first thing in the morning before breakfast. Another thing that I had to personally do is make sure I went to the bathroom before a...

Re: can you change the days?

I started doing (what I termed) a "No Pressure Session" on the Saturday, which is a repeat of a session from the week, although I didn't have the pressure to complete it. This may help in your desire to only have one day rest. It meant I was sometimes doing 4 sessions a week. Probably not ...

Re: First run tomorrow!

I wear an arm band too, it makes you look like a pro hehe. I also wear the headphone wire situated to the back as I find in the runs I would accidently pull them out. Furthermore, I have to wear a head band to actually hold the ear phones in! I got the armband off eBay for peanuts. As for running in...

Re: Starting again

I'm not in West London but, instead of doing it for weight loss and all that hooha, the best thing that worked for me, that motivated me to do the sessions and achieve each challenge was: "I want to learn how to run." in your case, it could be: "I want to learn how to run again!"

Re: Week 8 and I'm a bit stuck

Okay, I should take my own advice. Just came back from the third 28 minute jog and the last half was made of walking/jogging burst/hobble/walking. I checked my GPS pace tracker and it showed that my first 10 minutes were too fast (for me) again. In the last two sessions I regulated my speed and ther...

Re: Never run before

I am 54 with a BMI of about 29 so on doctors orders I have started to run. Firstly the app is just what I wanted as it provides the stimulus to go out and run and then during the run encourages me to keep going. I have managed to get to week 3 and have just come in from run 1. It was OK but I get q...

Re: Week 8 and I'm a bit stuck

I used to find that my last 10 minutes were very sluggish (okay they still are - but not as much!), I was gasping for air and didn't actually 100% jog my 25 minute runs of week 7. So I downloaded a GPS tracker and found that I was running my first 1.6km (1 mile) too fast, therefore my last 15 minute...

Re: Jan 1 / Week 1 / Run 1

You will meet many challenges, physical and psychological, and then before you know it you will be jogging 30 minutes!!

It is just overcoming all these barriers that is the trick. Fantastic work, all of us :)
