Re: Sticky: Introductions!
Hi all, My name is Linda and I live in Illinois, USA. Very excited to find this forum. I turned 50 this year, have four children and have struggled with weight for years. I've walked consistently the last 3 years and a dinner conversation between my marathoning husband and 18 year old son who runs ...

I'm due to start tomorrow but I'm going to take a view on it in the afternoon as I think my left knee is damaged - walking is painful and I dread to think what the stress of running would do to it. I'm a bit miffed by it frankly. Robin, Oh no  , I hope it's not damaged. Do you use a brace or s...

Re: If I can do it ....... wk 4 and determined
I have spent the last 9 weeks reading lots of posts on this forum, which have been so inspiring I have decided to do one myself. I'm 42, smoked all my life (packed in 2 months ago), never done any exercise since school and about 1 stone overweight. It has taken me 9 weeks to reach week 4 (which I m...

Re: Week 4 run 3 sort of failed! Advice needed
Well I've decided not to go. I've woke up feeling like I've done 10 rounds with mike tyson! I'm going to re run week 4 next week and see how I feel!? Any advice would be greatly received! That's exactly what I would do too. You didn't fail. Remember that your body will get stronger with each run. Y...

Friday Morning: w7r3 Morning my running friends, I'm very happy to have finished the run this morning! I got back home before the rain. So that's good. It's really hard to run in the rain and humidity, my glasses fog up. About 6 minutes past and I really felt like I was running instead of shuffling,...

Re: Whew! W2R2 Down!
[quote="Not a runner-yet!"]I was shopping today, looked at the clock, glanced at the weather and immediately dropped my merchandise! I thought, "Oh no, it looks like rain! I need to get home and run!" . On my way home I thought those were unusual thoughts, I didn't use the time o...

I use endomondo, it maps your runs and keeps track of distance, speed, calories, etc and saves the data. I run it on my android phone as I have the old iphone3g which doesn't multitask, but it is available for iPhone. It does have a 5k program on it, but the electronic voice just barks out, "ru...
