Re: Absolute beginner seeks reassurance fast!

The only way I manage 5 runs a week is by forcing myself to get off the train and run home when I finish work. This way it doesn't eat into my personal time but must admit the Easter Holidays is interrupting my new regime so have some catching up to do. Seriously though every week, you end up pushin...

Re: Absolute beginner seeks reassurance fast!

I am currently on week 5 and can say that the first few weeks are the hardest but if you stick with it, you will amaze yourself. Every week you think I can't do this but your body will adapt, I promise you. A few weeks ago I couldnt run for a minute but now running for 20 so if a gaming couch potato...

Re: Could you run a marathon without training?

I think there is a huge difference between running a marathon with no training and walking most of the way which is what some of the z list celebrities are guilty of. Would be a fantastic achievement to have run a marathon, but at the moment by first goal is 5k in 30 minutes, then a 10k, then a half...

Re: 20 minutes!!! Oh lord help me!

5k in 30 minutes is my target too buddy, it will be a massive achievement for a fat boy like me to achieve :) Has anyone read the book An Accidental Athlete? I have just been reading about it and tempted to give it a read but wondered if anyone has already read it before I buy http://www.amazon.com/...

Re: 20 minutes!!! Oh lord help me!

This week was one of those weeks that throws you out of your new routine. Saturday was a family meal with drinks for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, Sunday was my friends wedding with enough food to rival Man vs food and today my colleague brought in 5 trays of cream cakes that must be eat...

Re: Graduation - here I come

Excellent, you are an inspiration to us all, I am on week 5 approaching the dreaded 20 minute run but reading how people such as yourself have completed the program really spurs me on.

Re: 20 minutes!!! Oh lord help me!

Just finished Week 5 run 1 and thought it was ok, but now I discovered it jumps to a 20 minute run on Friday :o
Man that is quite a jump and feeling a little nervous now.
