Re: Knee problem

Well it sounds like a nerve being pinched especially since there isn't any bruising. I'm sure you're swimming will keep you up. Good luck even though it stinks you have to wait si long for the appointments! I hope it turned out ok for you!

Re: Week 5, Run 2

Haha! I sure enjoyed reading your post! So I suppose this tells us all that we do have it inside of us to do the runs!!! I am wondering a few things: 1. Were you wearing running clothes or street clothes? 2. What did the idle peds think as you were running like someone was chasing you, and 3. How do...

Re: Constant running jumps from 8mins to 20, eek!

DON'T LOOK AHEAD!!!! I decided to just do what I was told and try not to think too hard about it. Remember all of the early runs lead up to the later runs, you'll be ready! I just finished week 8 and I think if I'd looked too far ahead I would have quit! So keep running and keep reading the forum. G...

Re: Rest days...(and Hi from a newbie!)

I think the rest days really help, although the program says to rest 2 days after each week I'll admit there have been times when I've only rested for one of those days. I think the object is to build stamina and that takes time. Although you do sound very fit! I'll start week 9 day after tomorrow a...

Re: Just started last week and loving it

I agree about the weight loss. Being from across the pond, I measure in pounds and wanted to lose 10 but I've not lost a single pound! I just finished week 8 tonight - but - I've lost inches and dropped a size! I feel so much better than I have after dieting and simply losing weight! My body is lean...

Re: Can I Do It?

Good for you! I just finished week 8! Can't believe that, but I remember worrying about the 20 minute run, but you can do it! Just keep doing what the lovely voice, ( I've named her Fiona), tells you to do. This is a remarkable place for inspiration! I know I couldn't have done this without all the ...

Finished week 8!

Just finished week 8 and carved a full minute off my time! It was a good run. I know I'll be able to do the 5k! I love this app!

Week 8 Run 2

Whew! Just finished the run, I'm finding the running to be getting much easier although by the end I'm waiting for her to say there are only 3 minutes left. I suppose next weeks runs will be the entire 30 minutes. I need to build some stamina in my legs, they tend to get tired toward the end. It's h...

Re: Knee problem

I bet many people are running because if the Olympics! In my mind I'm an Olympic runner, but in my body I'm more like the old guy on the movie UP. Swimming is a great exercise for the whole body without the knee strain. I wish I had a pool close! I live in the country and right now all I have close ...

Re: Back in The Saddle..

Welcome to the forum! This spot is the best place for motivation and inspiration there is. When I first started I chose not to look ahead to what I was going to be expected to do and just ran one run at a time. The first week was hardest for me because the idea if running 8 runs was horrifying! :-) ...
