Re: First Run! Hi all!

Hi to you! Welcome to the forum! This is the best place ever! I'm on week 9 and everytime I say that I can't believe it! I was hoping to lose weight by running and I have to say I haven't. But what I have lost is inches! And I've dropped a size and a half. But the number on the scale doesn't change ...

Re: Which are the best Headphones for Running?

I hate to even reply after Matt, he's very smart about these things, but I have a pair of ifrogz. I'm not sure if they do all the things you want, but the best thing about them is there are silicone pieces that slip on the bud. They come with 3 different sizes of silicone bud covers so there is a se...

Re: When do you run?

I would prefer to run in the mornings, but it doesn't always work out! So, I run whenever I can. I agree with the previous posters, mornings are best. When I wait until it cools off here in the States, it's usually after 9 pm and I have trouble sleeping. I'm a teacher and school starts in a few week...

Re: First run completed!

Welcome to the Forum! I think reading and responding to the posts here has helped me as much as the running itself! I've gotten more confident as I've gone through the program. I'm on week 9 and I cannot belive I've gotten this far! I've kept running even though it was hot, I was tired, I was on vac...

Re: W7 r1 fail :(

I've had days where I just didn't feel like I could do this, too. But I agree with Matt, there have been a few days when I feel like I could run forever! I'll admit I've only had a few of those runs, but I'm sure there will be more. Day 1 of week 9 for me was horrible! I made it through, but I was s...

Re: Week 5 run 2

I'm glad the music works! I live in the middle of nowhere so I'm not a risk of dogs, but I don't want to run too late at night because we have skunks! I think once you get past this week, you will feel a lot better. The runs do get more managable after week 5.
Great job and keep us all posted!

Re: Gutted!

Oh, please don't talk bad about your runs!! I've just finished run 1 of week 9 yesterday and run 2 is tomorrow. I am so proud of myself people are tired of me telling them how awesome I am! I haven't gotten to the 3 mile mark very often either, but I think after the program ends, I will re-do week 9...

Re: Week 5 run 2

I think any strategy you want to do will work. The run do get easier as you build stamina. I try to put in long songs but I really don't know exact times. Are you running outside or on a treadmill? I find running outside allows my mind to wander a bit so I'm not do focused on the run.
Good luck!

Not breaking any records here...

I started week 9 today. I was supposed to start yesterday but it was too hot. So I finished the entire 30 minutes! I sure didn't break any speed records. Near the end my leggs were telling me the were ready to be finished. I can't believe I'm in week 9! I need to change my name from not a runner yet...
