Re: Week 5 run 3 - solid 20 mins (eek!)

The key to weight loss is to proberly understand the calories in/out setup. The general rule is that you need to create a deficit between the two and it takes around a 3500 defecit to lose 1lb. So to lose 1lb a week you need a daily deficit of around 500 calories per day be that all from dieting, al...

Re: Feels like I can walk faster than I run (W4)

Sounds like your running the same speed as me haha. I aim to run at the slowest possible speed thats still running. Its all about building stamina at this point, speed will come later. And dont orry about repeating weeks, i done that plenty of times :)

Re: Week 3 going into week 4 without a rest day?

Nope never, for two reasons:- 1. Your body recovers and improves on the rest days therefore they are as essential as the actual cardio; 2. Running is high impact and your stressing your legs significantly even if you dont feel it. You miss rest days and increase intensity your going to see injury be...

You will find the 20 min run fine, trust me, everyone worries about it but i have yet to see anyone fail it. Just go slow and look forward to your special message from claire the trainer :)

The thigh burn is good, thats muscles working as they should getting stronger and burning energy, embrace that feeling :) However, shin pain is bad (and believe me i can thoroughly sympathise) and you need to deal with this. Inthink its normal to get some mild shin pain...

Re: Week 3 run 1

I just finished week 7 which is solid 25 minute runs and i found that easier than all of weeks 1 to 4 haha If you break thise first few weeks you have honestly done the hardest part. In a few weeks you will look back and realise quite how much of this is mental ratherthan physical. Keep at it and yo...

Re: Running Pace & Distance

Thats pretty much what i run at on treadmill, my fast walk is between 5.8 - 6.3 and i run at 8. I find that much slower than 8 is that awkward mix point between a too fast walk but a too slow jog. I really aim to go as slow as i can and still be jogging so what you do is the same as me give or take ...
